Uhh, anybody out there ripped the wings off of their Assault Frigate, or taken a peek at its insides??

I'm talking about the forward set, not the tail.

On both my AFs the wings don't seem to be glue in placed; there's some give I can wiggle them freely in their slot. They remain firmly attached, but it seems more likely that they're locked in position via an internal tab than by glue.

I'm considering taking the wings off one to work on a conversion. It feels like I could just vigourously wiggle/pull on them for a while and they'd eventually pop out, but I want to retain the option to restore them if I don't like the converted result.

So I was wondering if anyone had done something like this and might have tips.

No, maybe on a second one I may

The Wings actually have quite a thick base designed the fit between the two hull pieces securely. You have to split the hull apart into its two halves to get them out.

Placing the ship in the freezer is supposed to cause the glue to become brittle to allow ease in dismantling the ship...Then you can take it apart and modify to your hearts content...

Argh, not what I was hoping to hear.

This usually works. However, my Frigate came with the hull sections kind of loose/poorly glued right out of the box, and one of the first things I did was reinforce them by sneaking some superglue in between the halves while holding them pried apart. I guess that was premature and I should've thought about future mods before making it even harder to disassemble.
