Can't really blame Kanan for not wanting to get involved in another war after surviving the Clone Wars and seeing what had happened 15 years ago in Order 66. What I'm waiting to see is his reaction when he meets with the three former Clone Troopers Rex, Wolffe and Gregor. It was Clone Troopers who turned on and killed his mentor, Jedi Master Depa Billaba, and tried to hunt him down as well. I don't see the initial meeting going very well but their relationship does improve judging by what we've seen in the trailer for season 2.

Yeah, Dave Filoni confirmed the names of the other 2 clones you see in the season 2 Rebels trailer as Wolffe (on Rex's left) and Gregor (On Rex's right)...

There's a sourcebook (The Essential Guide to Warfare) which states that the DS2 was already "in the initial stages of construction" during the Battle of Yavin.

And a novel (Choices of One) that shows a half-sphere DS2 above Endor.

And a recent comic book, set mere weeks after ANH, that shows a DS2 that's already not far off the level of completion seen in ROTJ: Brian Wood's Star Wars.

So - in the EU-verse at least - the DS2's construction has been pushed back a bit. Earlier EU works (The Illustrated Star Wars Universe) suggested that, even after the Battle of Hoth, Endor was still being scouted out so that they could decide if it was a suitable place for building the DS2, but later works show it at Endor very early.

This can be rationalized with "they had to move the shield generator and DS2 - and that's why they were scouting that part of Endor out".

The newcanon-verse, however, may have a slightly different history.

I just love it that they show Stormtroopers as stooges, FFS even without those retarted clones they were hardcore trained killers But no everyhero gives a cumulative in System -20% penalty to hit, and Lucas made fragin evocs killing dudes in armour with stone hatcherts, righhhhhhttttt becouse a Soldier after training cant hit a **** with a gun, of course not coz Plotarmour..... What was a cool concept ended as a laughing stock, go frell yourself Lucas

Yet the new Marvel Comics show Tagge with a ship of he same class immediately after ANH, perhaps implying he possessed it before Yavin.

The thing is people seem to assume that armor designed for use against blasters or slugthrowers would automatically be effective against more pmrimitive weponry. It wouldn't any more then Kevlar is effective against arrows.

The Annihilator was just called a Super Star Destroyer - and there were no close-ups of the ship in the comic as I recall - in the oldcanon there were several different classes of SSD ranging from only a little bigger than an ISD, to immense.

Still, the basic idea is sound. More importantly, I think a lot of oldcanon sources (guidebooks, novels, etc) specifically had the Tagge from the Death Star dying there - whereas the newcanon makes it clear that the man left it before the attack on Alderaan.

While there's been a pattern of "mining the EU for ideas" - there's also going to be lots of changes as well - we'll have to wait and see what's changed in many cases.

Arrows are piercing, hatchets are bashing, Besides, look Clone wars Clone troopers armour was very resiliant to physical trauma and ST armour is a direct upgrade in terms of rezistance. But hey, Fluff uberalles yes ?
