Upgrades for cheap arc-dodgers

Consider A-wings. I like Expert Handling on Tycho because I use barrel rolls a lot to line up shots and dodge arcs. It works well on high PS ship. Seems to me though that for lower PS ships like Green Squadron Pilots (PS 3), auto thrusters would be a better upgrade for the same cost as they are moving first instead of last. No dodging going on if you don't know for sure where your opponent may land.

Am I over-thinking this?

No such thing.

I'll also say that the ability to Boost is better on low-PS pilots, as the ability to add it to your maneuvers without being blocked outweighs its minor ability to arc-dodge, or its major ability to re-acquire a shot from a flubbed maneuver.

Good point. However, flubed maneuvers for me usually include bumping into something which takes boosting off the table.

Making it EVEN BETTER for a low-PS pilot!

You move without anyone having moved, so you know where you're going, and can boost freely.

When I said "Flubbed maneuver", I was referring to one in which you don't end with an opponent in arc.

I find greens just need Predator or Push the limit and chardaan refit. However, they are still a bit weak against high agility targets unless you can get range 1 consistently. Something which you might be able to engineer if you take a couple test pilots as blockers. For example, 4 test pilots w/ chardaan = 60 pts and 2 greens w/ Push the Limit + chardaan = 40 pts. Of course, you might not be planning on running 6 a-wings, so you could go with half that and still have 50 pts for something else...
