The Eraidu Campaign (Empire vs. Scum) - feedback requested

By DocCheech17, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I got a bit crazy the other day and began writing a campaign for myself and a good friend which would feature both our favored factions, Empire(me) and Scum (him). I've never written a campaign before and as I near completion I was wondering if anyone out there on the inter-webs would take a few minutes to take a look over what I have so far and provide some feedback. Any questions, comments, issues, criticism or concerns are all greatly welcomed.

Thank in advance and if for some reason you like it please share it with whomever you want.

I might read through it, once I have some time, but - honestly - don't expect much response from the players around here.

While there might be some claiming interest in campaigns, truth is, that Deathmatch [100p] is the established format for this game.

Also, it is tournament season, and FFG is only rewarding tournament play, which means there won't be any feedback on your work until november/december (if at all).

If you are interested in comparing your campaign to mine you can take a look at it here (and leave yourself some comments about it in that specific thread...).

I think this is a great campaign. You have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into it. I really enjoyed reading it and want to try it out with friends. I particularly like the Empire v Scum focus. I am fascinated to see how the last three scenarios will look like once you have developed them. Here are a few ideas for you to consider (if you want to of course):

- the Imperial Raider class Corvette will be available soon - incorporating one of them could make things very interesting. Perhaps in the base assault scenario you could have the Inperials based around one of them and some fighters?

- the scum Wave 7 ships (YV-666 and Kirazh fighter) could be added as well when they become available. With the YV-666 replacing the YT-1300 and YT-2400 in the scenarios (or it could be another option to keep the Imperial player unsure what he/she will be facing) and the Kirazh fighter another option for the Scum player?

I am very interested to know what you think of these thoughts of mine and to see how the final scenarios will look.

John Tenzer, thanks for the situational awareness on the responsiveness of the community to scenarios, we too usually always play 100 pt deathmatches but are looking to try something different. I started to look at the campaign you wrote and was blown away at the amount of detail you put into it, I plan on reading the whole thing later this week as there is a lot for me to learn from it. Interesting that we were both inspired by early 90s DOS flight Simulators, as your introduction pays homage to Wing Commander, my little campaign is heavily influenced by X-Wing and Tie Fighter.

Ghengis Khan,

So here is the finished version

We played two games worth tonight, with the imperials winning the first match (Scouts Out) and the Sucm easily foiling the Imperial ambush in "Seek and Destroy" We are going to pick up where we left off next week and play the "Convoy" Mission. There were a few issues we had to change but overall it played fairly balanced. We both enjoyed the fact that one a ship was gone you never got to use it again, I lost a Saber Squadron with three kills and my friend lost N'Dru Sulak half way through the second mission, we were both beating ourselves up pretty bad about it.

I actually have the Imperial Raider on pre-order so that will be built into the scenario once it is released, I actually built a Corellian Corvette into the imperial forces and took your suggestion and had it play a role in the base assault as it had been mentioned but never used . The problem is neither me or my buddy have the model right now so as you'll see it is kind of off the board providing fire support to the attacking imperial wings. My friend promises me that when my raider arrives he'll get a CR90, so next time I write one of these I'm going to incorporate Epic ships! As for the upcoming releases I plan on updating the scenario as they release to ensure they can be played.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi DocCheech,

Thanks for posting the campaign with final scenarios. I will be giving it a try out with a friend of mine when I return from holiday.

Thanks for all the hard work you have put into developing the campaign.
