Hybrid Skystrikers "blue" (looks purple to me) encounter card

By player680440, in Runebound

I have a question about the Runebound "Hybrid Skystrikers" encounter card. It reads: Ranged: For each (heart symbol) Skystrikers inflict during ranged combat, your hero and all your allies each receive (1 fatigue symbol).

This seems extremely over powered they way it is written. This encounter ranged damage is 4 (with an 18 attack value!) ... meaning they would inflict four hearts and in turn four fatigue damage to your hearo and each ally?

Or do they mean to say, in addition to the four damage, each hero and ally receive one fatigue (which seems more balanced).

Is this card meant to be played as written? Anyone else question this card??? Help!!!

Also, if you mitigate the damge with armor per se, do they still "inflict 4 damage" even though the armor absorbs some of it? Or is the amount of damge inflicted lowered as well when triggering their special ability?

Yes. 4 hearts to hero & 4 fatigue to each one.

Fatigue is lowered to the amount of hearts that is inflicted after armor reduction.

The way I read what you've quoted up there, it sounds like every wound they inflict also causes fatigue damage to the hero and all his allies. If the wound is blocked or avoided somehow, the fatigue would also be avoided (since that wound was not inflicted then.) It is a powerful card to be sure, but it's also a Blue encounter which is getting to the point where encounters SHOULD be hard. I would play it as written.

Edit: In my experience, 18 is not a terribly large combat value for a Blue encounter. Assuming you've taken the time to level up to a reasonable degree, you should be able to handle that easily enough. If you're pushing blues in an effort to gain distance on the other players then you have to be ready for the potential consequences (ie: getting your ass handed to you.)
