I just started playing a few months ago, and I participated in my first store tournament this week. Not only did the following squad win me the tournament, but I went 5-0 with it all night. I'll write the list below, then highlight some of the reasons I think it is such an effective list.
Boba Fett w/ Veteran Instincts, Heavy Laser Cannon, Rebel Captive, and Engine Upgrade.
Rexler Brath w/ Veteran Instincts and Heavy Laser Cannon
Highlights:
1. Both pilot skills at 10
2. Firespray's rear arc and Rexler's white K-Turn allowed me to attack almost every round while effectively arc dodging and maneuvering last.
3. Both ships have target lock with HLC, so I was typically firing 8 dice (4/4) with re rolls, scoring a lot of damage every time. Often I would take out one or two ships per round.
4. The first ship to attack Boba received a stress token.
Although it's not a popular pairing, during the tournament I took down a Decimator paired with Echo, a double Aggressor list, A YT and Millennium Falcon duo, a YT and 2 Z-95 squad, and a double Phantom list with Dark Curse.
What do you guys think? What will be some of the drawbacks when going up against exoerienced players? Any and all feedback is much appreciated! Thanks all.
