And Leebo Makes Three

By Grayfax, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been wanting to work on a control squad a bit more. Reading in the Determination thread earlier got me to thinking and playing around with Leebo and Determination and what might work with it that I liked and had most of the cards for. I'm still short one card, but that is easily fixed in a week or two. If this is someone else's named list and I missed it, I apologize, please let me know and I'll modify or remove accordingly (I did search for a bit and didn't see one immediately that had the same setup).

"Leebo" in YT-2400 (46 Points)

Determination

"Mangler" Cannon

Anti-Pursuit Lasers

Outrider Title

Blue Squadron Pilot in B-Wing (27 Points) x 2

Fire Control System

Ion Cannon

Total of 100 points.

Initially I was looking at Stress from Leebo, but then I was sacrificing damage for stress and ion tokens. My current compromise is to put the Ion on the B-Wings and add medium damage to Leebo. I expect this will be a lot of fun to fly and gives interesting chances on survivability.

Now... rip it to shreds and do forumy things to it...

I like it. Only thing I'm iffy on is the APLs, but no clue what else you could do, and given Leebo's middling PS and the maneuverability of the YT-2400, you might actually be able to get some use out of it.

And I"m big on the Mangler over an HLC with Leebo. WIth his PS, it's way too easy for ships to get inside that donut compared to Dash.

Personally, I like Leebo with HLC and NO title, particularly when you've got control elements to help fix your steerage.

Also, if you go with that, you can trade the APL in for 4 points of upgrade: possibly an Engine Upgrade or R2-D2.

I originally had the Engine Upgrade, but I'm really thinking that Barrel Roll will be enough movement for what I am intending... though I might regret that. I wasn't thinking about low PS Swarms moving before me when looking at Anti-Pursuit Lasers. I'm thinking about changing out the APL for Dash Rendar. That is much less situational and could be very helpful in asteroids, even if some stress is acquired.
