Good Ol' Boys

By Sierra Romeo Charlie, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So, finally got a Rebel list I like the theme behind. The inspiration is from the show "The Dukes of Hazzard" with the main characters Bo & Luke being played by (Lee)Bo and Luke! If you know anything else about the show, there's also Daisy being played by Jan Ors and Uncle Jesse is riding around in an HWK with the Intelligence Agent as the CB radio. :P

It's not going to be super-competitive, but with both (Lee)Bo and Luke being good tanky ships with Jan lending an Evade as needed, and the HWK being able to Ion targets of opportunity, it should at least hold its own.

"Leebo" (34)
Determination (1)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Jan Ors (2)
Luke Skywalker (28)
Expert Handling (2)
R2-D2 (4)
Rebel Operative (16)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Total: 100
Thoughts?

I love Leebomination, and I love Cool Hand Luke.

An Ion Operative with an Intelligence Agent doesn't operate as independently as the others. He's the weak-point of your fleet.

What else can we buy with the points?

Rebel Operative with Moldy Crow title, Intelligence Agent, and Autoblaster Turret

Rookie Pilot

Green Squadron with Chaardan, 4 points of Elite Talents

Et c. et c. et c.

What are the weaknesses of the fleet, and can we shore them up with 21 points?

And other questions.

Indeed, the Rebel Operative is the weakest link. I can drop Jan as well, for a total of 24 points to play with.

Weaknesses are definitely PS9+ arc dodgers and probably action-economy builds like Dash/Corran. Others I'm not so sure. Swarms I think can be handled, Control is always an issue but both Luke and Leebo aren't totally action-dependent.

Perhaps I could use a blocker of some sort. I can get 2 Bandits for 24pts, but I've never felt they work the best as blockers. Perhaps the following:

Prototype Pilot (17)
Proton Rockets (3)
Autothrusters (2)

It's a little pricey for a blocker at 22pts, but also can be deadly at range 1, and it's relatively tanky too. I can take the final 2pts and put Tactician on Leebo to help throw some stress.

Thanks for the assistance, what other questions might you have?

or just swap out the reb. op withhis goodies for a naked Blue squad

Something that stresses as a turret helps with the action-economy and with the arc-dodgers.

Of course, you might do with 2 Z-95s for 24 total points instead...

Have you considered a Y-Wing with R3-A2? If you sacrifice Jan Ors, you can afford a Blaster Turret on it as well.

Or a Tactician on Leebo instead of Jan.

R3-A2 is great, but I haven't purchased a Rebel Transport yet. Also, I can only squeeze it on a Y or X-wing. A Rookie w/ R3-A2 is great, but I think he'd be target #1 and wouldn't last long. I can't quite afford the BTL Ion R3-A2 combo either, not sure the Blaster turret will work as it's so dependent on that lone Focus token.

Tactician on Leebo instead of Jan is definitely an option.

Just a crazy idea, what about a HWK built like this?

Rebel Operative (16)

Autoblaster Turret (2)

Nien Nunb (1)

Moldy Crow (3)

Got the AB turret for killing arc-dodgers, Nunb lets me move 4 straight with no stress, and the Moldy Crow title lets me bank all my Focus solely for defensive purposes. Seems like a fun use of 22 points.
