x-wing upgrade

(this isn't a thread about 'fixing' the x-wing. I'm just looking for a new way to make the game more fun)

At this point, my opponent and I have diverged from official rules and are crafting our own upgrades. So I'm thinking about the X-wing, and I think it'd be cool if they could link fire like in the video games, where all four guns fire at once.

Linked Fire, X-wing only, title. cost: cheap. (maybe 0). Not unique/limited.

When attacking, you may add +1 to your attack value. If you do, you may not attack the next round.

I like the idea of having a strong attack one round, with the cost of not being able to attack the following round. Same sort of idea as Corran Horn, but not as strong and with fewer upgrade combos (e.g. FCS). I feel like an ability like this would be useful on a squad of lower PS generics, where it's unlikely that all the ships will have a shot on the same round anyway.

Wedge, Linked fire, Expose+Expirimental Interface, R2 Astromech. 5 dice, or 6 at short range, when under biggs protection

Linking the weapons is something that pretty much every ship can do, though, so there's no reason for it to be unique to the X-wing.

Linking weapons has never really mattered when it comes to game statistics. In the video game your linked weapons may have seemed to HIT harder but that is only when they actually did hit; firing with the weapons unlinked often gave you more individual hits but you need to get four of those to equal a single linked hit. This is easily demonstrated by just parking a ship and firing at a non-moving target; the linked shots hit harder but single shots hit far more often and in the end there was little difference.

Besides, if you think you should get a free bonus by linking the X-Wings lasers then why shouldn't everything else be able to do the same? The Interceptor has the same four lasers so certainly it could use such an upgrade. This is even before you start linking lasers to ions and such which I guess is what the new Y-Wing title does and it is pretty strong.

Not sure if hitting with more dice is gonna be that much of an advantage if the x-wing can't stick around long enough to attack more than once. Almost sounds like a free proton torpedo upgrade at that point.

Maybe a different upgrade that discounts mods or EPTs or jus gives BR on the action bar. I do like that you r coming up with these ideas instead of just complaining about the need for them like everyone else.
