And don't forget that the core set was also a GenCon pre-release. It's in this game's bloodline.
wave 7 blisters
At this point, it's safe to say it is just a company thing. As long as it isn't as bloody as the Netrunner pre-release...
I'll be in that line. What wrath I will face when I return home....
https://m.facebook.com/groups/1536099843345877?ref=bookmarkWhere on Facebook did you see those pictures? I'm really intrigued. It also looks like the next kit for Imperial Assault is there. I also see what appear to be the FFG banners that they have at the event center. Is this an image of a test copy at FFG headquarters?
Fella said it was some trade show display somewhere I think.

Just bring flowers back home with you.
The only thing that baffles me is that the K-wing is a small base, while the Aggressor is large.
I look forward to making a side-by-side comparison to see just how absurd it's getting.
My first instinct is to agree with you here, as this was one of my first impressions of the Aggressor. I thought wow, such a small model for a large base!
However it dawned on me that the reason the Aggressor is on a large base may not be entirely due to the size of the model itself, rather how they intended on it moving across the field. I'm sure the intention was for it to be an extremely slippery ship capable of mind-blowing dexterity, being a calculating assassin droid and all. From a fluff perspective it should be capable of maneuvers a flesh and blood pilot is incapable of. You look at it, underestimate it, and BAM - it came from across the map and is sitting behind you.
The K-Wing on the other hand is a massive multi-pilot fighter. I'm sure the intention is for it to be slower moving and less maneuverable - hence the SLAM feature eating up an action to make it able to move better.
I secretly hope the K-wing is about as good as the Syck.

Come back with your Hound's Tooth... or on it!
Aggressor's on a large base because it would **** all over everything (and especially the poor defender) if it didn't have a large base hampering its maneuverability (obstructions!)
The K-wing's on a small base because we have way than enough large base PWTs in the rebel faction, though the K-wing would join the YT-2400 in being far more reasonable and dependent on maneuvering given its weak primary and emphasis on 2ndary weapons + bombs. I also suspect SLAM has something to do with it.
Just imagine it: a large base K-wing performing 2 maneuvers, the 2nd of which can actually go on obstructions. It'd be the atomic bomb of blocking

Agreed. The Aggressor wouldn't be nearly as impressive (or imposing) of a ship if it were on a small base. It would be super slow.

I disagree. The large base is far more of an asset to the Aggressor than a hindrance. You will clip the occasional rock and or debris field if you try to thread too many needles, but the wider firing arc and increased speed of the large base make up for it and are vital to how the ship plays.
I will say I am a bit staggered to see the wingspan on that K; the model must easily be twice the width of the small base. Those things are going to hate being magnetized.

I know for the certain the only way I can beat Aggressors with Dash is because their fat asses get stuck on obstructions. In a straight dice-off, they'd tear him a new one ![]()
I also know that they absolutely despise stress for similar reasons. Anything limiting an aggressor's maneuverability + large base means that the sweeping motions they make can take them well out of the fight. Small base defenders do not share these concerns, since they can slip between obstructions with much greater ease (and white 4k etc.), which justifies how they're basically inferior aggressors ito statline and upgrade slots.
maneuvering a large base isn't easy and can be very limiting if you have any kind of restriction on your ability to shoot. Since you're occupying 4 times the area of a small base, it's that much easier to end up on the wrong end of a space peanut. Obstructions limit boost options and where you can maneuver, especially red. On a clear field, aggressors have a field day, but obstructions have always been how I personally beat them

See, to me, the only reason an Aggressor is even a threat to Dash is because it is on a large base. If it were a small base ship, Dash would just run circles around them all day long because he can move so much faster.
I will grant you the point about losing the occasional boost to an obstacle; can't deny that one.
(I'm done, don't want to derail the thread any further.)
When I buy 10 of everything at Gencon with my gang of zombie buyers you can bet they'll be online for double haha

Bro.
Don't be that guy.
dibs on a Hound's Tooth?
PWT?
Primary Weapon Turret (YT's, Decimator, now K-Wing...)
I secretly hope the K-wing is about as good as the Syck.
Well, Miranda is significantly better than the Scyk pilots.

Impossible. Miranda is the worst thing humanity has ever produced. And yes, I'm including Hitler and swede.

You've got to be kidding, that show is hilarious.

(assuming you mean to say, 'not so good')
I hope even the ships I don't like are good, I'd much rather have a variety of ships in the game.
the viability of the k-wing basically hinges 100% on the new bombs/mines and ordinance
it's horribly inefficient as a straight fighter if the spanish spoilers are to be believed (23 for the PS 2) and can't even use its signature SLAM if it wants to shoot (make attacks at all, neither primary nor secondary)
Miranda might have some faint hope as a not-so-fat turret (with the new 2ndary, since I don't think you want to bleed her shields just to hit 3 dice primary, but you might for that 4 dice range 1 shot...). Lack of EPT makes that questionable, though. She could also end up just being an ordinance carrier since her ability does not specify primary weapons. That's five dice from the current staple of missiles/torps, and if the new ones are any good that might just see play

Oh, I thought you mean this Miranda and I was about to agree with you. But now I just want to go watch Serenity....

I found Serenity rather disappointing. If Firefly hadn't been canceled it would have been the best Wheden show of them all.
