We held our second semi-annual OutRyder Cup this past weekend. It was a hell of an event, with an incredibly tense ending.

The next one is set for December. If anyone has any interest in trying to put a team together and wants to come to Pittsburgh PA, please reach out and let me know.
And it anyone is interested is setting up something similar in their area, I'm happy to discuss what we've done with them.
OutRyder Cup II
Great write-up, too bad about the elimination of epic, but that would have been more tragic if the Raider was out. Is Nova Squadron Radio planning to do an episode about this Outryder Cup like they did the last one?
Removing Epic was a very unpopular decision among Pittsburgh, Morgantown, and portions of th Latrobe team. We seriously considered keeping Epic and letting Latrobe sit out the event, but calmer heads prevailed and we unsuccessfully tried to accommodate their needs. Epic will be making a hopefully permanent return for OutRyder Cup III. Everyone, except a few Latrobe players, really look forward to the opportunity to play Epic in a competitive setting. There really are few opportunities to do that.
Chad was on the Latrobe team, but Ed couldn't participate due to his impending move. I'm not sure what coverage they plan to do with OutRyder II, they haven't really discussed it with me or Morgantown to my knowledge, but I'm sure we are up for whatever. I'm pretty sure Ed is going to try to put together a team for OutRyder III from his new location and come in for the event.
I will say that the escalation portion was allot of fun
Th escalation part was fun. It just didn't fit too well in the event. Missing the 150 point round was a big deal, it changed a lot of the escalation strategies, at least it did for us. Epic was a better fit, after doing one with and one without Epic, I think that's true. It felt strange to have the entire 3 escalation games count for as much as 1 100 point game. And, while the pairing portion of the event is probably one of my favorite parts, doing it all those extra times for escalation made for a bit of a drag for the non captain players while they waiting around for us to get through it.
Was an amazing event hopefully we can pull even more teams to the event for Outryder III
