VASSAL - Built ship classes for 5.3.1

Some notes on these:


* Obviously I do these in the format that I like. My layout probably won’t appeal to everybody.


* I don’t build ships that aren’t released yet (with one small exception). You’re on your own for those.


* With this iteration, I added the most common upgrade cards for each ship class, just to save us all some time. It’s not exhaustive … it’s just the really common ones.


* These are labor-intensive, especially for someone as anal as I am. Mistakes creep in, and I’d very much appreciate it if folks point them out to me.


* Please feel free to share these in whatever fashion you like. If you want to give me credit, feel free; if not, no worries.

Basically log files pre-made versions of all the pilots, etc...so you don't have to do them yourself. It makes it very easy to create preloaded squads.

One thing I noticed was that for some reason the dials don't work for me. I can't pull up the menu on them and can't change the maneuver...as if the dial belonged to a different player. I just remade the dials and saved another log file.

Do you have x-wing module version 5.3.1? Muon did a lot of changes and fixes in v5.3. so you could be having an issue using an v5.2 or older..

Yup, I got 5.3.1...but now that I think about it, I might have started up 5.3.0 by accident. I don't remove the old versions in case I want to watch an old tournament match that was recorded in a previous revision. I'll double check when I get home tonight.

If they work for you, then I know it's something on my end.

Just checked and they are not working in 5.3.1

Radarman, did you try the dials? Did they work?

Just tried it and no they don't work. I can't even change the maneuver or delete them with shortcuts. Strange.

Okay, try this:

After you load a ship, click the Become Player # button. Choose Player 1. Test.

These work fine for me as any Player number. (Not as Observer.)

I can't explain why they wouldn't work for other people. I'll see if mu0n has an idea, when I get the chance.

So there's something going on with the new VASSAL module, such that every piece I spawned is "owned" by me (by virtue of my module password).

If I change my password, I get the same "can't do anything" behavior. When I change it back, things are normal again.

I have no idea what changed. I don't have a problem with resaving the *.vlogs, but I'm only going to do it if I have reason to think the behavior will be different. The X-Wing module developer, mu0n, is looking into it.

There's been no modification on dials whatsoever between 5.3.0 and 5.3.1

I didn't build files for 5.3.0. I did for 5.2.3, and they worked fine. I updated to 5.3.1, and this.

Like I said, I dunno what changed, but something obviously did. And it's ownership-related, in that the behavior looks at the current user's password. (BTW, mu0n, if you want my password to test, no problem. I'd guess that, using my password, the files will work for you.)

(Oh, it's also not just dials. It's everything in the files.)
