Didn't you read anything MJ said? Maneuvering is overcosted by 2 points. ![]()
you basically bring the r2 because you already brought r3-a2 ![]()
it's a good bit of manuevering, granted, and the ICT BTL-A4 is absolutely great by its own merits, but there is literally nothing in the game quite like a BTL-A4 with R3-A2. It just latches on to the super-elite de jour and drags him down to the level of your generics ![]()

Both is always the answer.
In regards to the khriaxaiacahdkslcne I really can't see how it doesn't end up either unplayable or highlighting the unplayability of the x wing.

The correct answer is to highlight the unplayability of the Xwing, then fix the X wing.
What if the Khirasz is not only an interesting ship for S&V but a test bed for recosting the X-Wing?

That's kind of the hope I suppose. The x wing is already pretty unplayable compared to the b wing, green squadron As, Y wings if any flavor and z 95s. If the khrixaixiaaxds gets to be both awesome and the final nail in the coffin I'm down for that.
What if the Khirasz is not only an interesting ship for S&V but a test bad for recosting the X-Wing?
You forgot this:

I think the cheapest generic will need to come in at 20 points tips to make it viable. 5 3 attack ships at 100 points will be potent.
The counter argument I'be heard to this is that FFG won't do this as it make te X-wing comparably worse. My counter to this is why would FFG make the same mistake?
I do like the idea of a couple of these guys flanking a YV666.
For one thing, imagine a tournament. One player brings 4 generic X-wings, the opponent brings 5 generic Kyhraxzs.
If the dial is comparable, if not the same. Who do you think is going to win....?

One of the problems with power creep is caused by displacement. Displacement is when new stuff comes in it sometimes does a better job at a roll or a task it often replaces current models. Take a look at the Rookie Pilot. In Wave 1-2 for the rebel faction the Rookie pilot was taken
Back in the day the Rookie pilot was the best candidate. Now on to post wave 4. For options you got
So as you see the Rookie pilot got displaced by ships that can do the same job but either better on in a different style that makes them more viable. Still displacement doesn't just work within faction but also across factions. Remember the 2 strongest shuttle builds. You had the Doomshuttle (EU, Vader Crew) and the Buzzsaw (EU +Gunner +FCS). Now those ships have been replaced. The Doomshuttle has been replaced by Vader Patrol as the decimator has more hit points thus can use Vader more times and the 360 turret means it will never have to worry about arc. As for the Buzzsaw shuttle the IG-88B/C combo as they both have boost already so you can take autothrusters to turn it into an agility tank and with the HLC upgrade it has the gunner effect with 1 extra firepower. Thus the shuttle has been displaced.
Now will displacing the rookie pilot even further as the 4 rookie squadron gets replaced by the 5 Cartel-whatever squadron be a bad thing? I don't know, right now S&V being the new faction in order for it to be viable in the other factions it either has to do something that is good that the other 2 factions can't do or do something that the other faction can do but only better, thus more displacement.

Well, it would be XXXXZ really, unless you loaded a few upgrades on. Even at 19 points, 5K wouldn't have room for another ship, barely an upgrade or two. so 4X+Z vs 5K, still not great, but if they had worse dials, it wouldn't be AS bad.

Haha, it just sounded conspiracy like the way you said it, not saying it's crazy or obvious really. But I actually think *if* they are going to fix the X-Wing, it'll probably be in the next wave or two, when they release the Episode 7 X-Wing, and they probably have it costed already, regardless of how the Kefnbbesddj works out.

One player brings 8 ties/z-95s, 4BZ, BTL-A4s, or almost anything else outside a joke list... Fact of the matter is that almost anything you could bring to a tournament these days wouldn't break a sweat on 4 rookies.
X-wing generics are the worst option within their own role to begin with and already see little use/success in tournaments. Adding another ship that is just as bad wouldn't be helping x-wings anyways.

Something an X-wing and B-wing are not. With 4 X-wings I would sooner take on a swarm of TIE/lns instead of taking on 4 B-wings. Against 4 BTL-A4 Y-wings seems interesting, I must try that ![]()
4 X-wings against 5 Kyhraxz..., I gladly exchange 3 hull, 2 shields for 4 hull, 1 shield, if this enables me to 1 ship more!
It is still five hitpoints, 3 attack, 2 defence. But you do outnumber the opponent if he/she brings the X-wings ![]()
Talonbane will be nice against decimators and yts (if you have any faith in extra green dice
) but all those HLC aggressors and dashes are going to have a field day
By the way if the cheapest pilot is 20 points we might see the 5 Khiraxz list sometimes see some action. 15 Attack dice and 25 hitpoints is on the okay side of things as far as listbuilding is concerned.
But it would be another huge kick in the nuts for the X-Wing and nothing can then justify they have STILL NOT announced an X-Wing fix!

the fact that they havn't been fixed sucks, but it sucks independently of the Special-K hopefully being viable

I fear it will.

While it doesnt justify it, Episode 7 and the Rogue 1 movie can explain it... by setting the Xwing fix to be part of a movie tie in. An episode 7 Rebel pack with the modified Xwing and a set of refit titles, for instance, would be a perfect chance to do some serious Xwing heavy fixes.

So if the X-Wing is overcosted compared to the B-Wing, what about a simple upgrade like the Charrdan Refit?
Blahblah Refit, X-Wing only, Torpedo upgrade, -1 squad points.
And I agree that it could come in a Rebel Aces 2 pack, that has two X-Wing repaints and/or remodels, and has a bunch of nifty Astromechs and titles for X-Wings as well.
