Stressful question

By iPanterra, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Quick question.

I understand that when you fly through the critical debris you

a: Get a stress

b: roll attack dice on a critical roll you get a critical damage/or lose a shield.

and if you land on it you get

a: stress token

b: roll attack dice on a critical roll you get a critical damage/or lose a shield.

No action

However you can still attack

on your next maneuver if your ship again has to fly through the asteroid you again receive

a: additional stress/unless you preform a green maneuver which still then you stick with a single stress.

There's 2 parts to my question

If you land on an asteroid

I understand that you don't get any actions or a combat phase for that particular ship however

do you still get stress for flying through/ landing on an asteroid?

also can one still preform a red meneuver through an asteroid and receive double stress?

(of course prior to meneuver the ship is not stressed)

Asteroids do not give Stress.

If you hit them they kill you Action Phase and you roll for damage. If you land on them they kill your attack ability. At no point do they directly cause you Stress.

Aren't debris fields handled differently though? He did change from debris to asteroids half way through the post

Bottom line:

Asteroids:

If you land on them - no action and roll for damage - suffer hit or crit rolled. No attack while you are on an asteroid.

If you fly over them or your template crosses them when leaving the asteroid - no action and roll for damage - suffer hit or crit rolled. You may attack.

Debris Fields:

If you land on them - no action and roll for crit - suffer crit only if rolled. Take 1 stress token. You may attack.

If you fly over them or your template crosses them when leaving the debris field - no action and roll for crit - suffer crit only if rolled. Take 1 stress token. You may attack.

Thank you very much, the reason I asked was because there was some discrepancy between me and my opposition on the weekend and to avoid an argument

I let it be. It seems that I was right.

on a side question, How does Ion effect work.

Ion effect on small ships only require 1 ion token so that next movement is a single 1 white maneuver straight, on large ships 2 ion token is required to do the same.

The question is, does Ion token stay after an attack phase or disappear?

example, my firespray was attacked by an ion cannon that hits and gives me 1 ion token, however since I am a large ship this does not do anything to me, at the end of

attack phase does it disappear? or stay on?

Ion tokens stay forever until they reach the threshold to ionize a ship. For small ships this threshold is 1 and for large ships this threshold is 2. After the ship has passed threshold, next movement they assign no dial and move 1 forward, then remove all ion tokens.

Yes as even a small ship can have more than 1 ion token on it but at the next move they don't choose a dial maneuver and do a white 1 forward then clear all ion tokens.

Any ion tokens not acted upon(meaning not enough to enable ion effect like on a big ship that needs 2) stay on until they get at least 1 more to fulfill the required 2 needed for the effect to enable. There is no way to strip an ion token off unless the ion effect takes place at which time all ion tokens get removed.

Small based ships require at least 1 ion token in order for the next round ion effect to be in place and large based ships require at least 2.

The reason I said "at least" is that you could have somethign like 4 y-wings shooting ion cannon turret at any ship and if they all hit, the ship would get all 4 ion tokens but only suffer 1 ion event the next round anyway and then ALL ion tokens get removed.

Thank you all for the knowledge sharing :D
