Do we already know what the Twin Ion Engine Mark II upgrade card does?

Do we already know what the Twin Ion Engine Mark II upgrade card does?

Nope. But everyone thinks it's a Defender fix that makes certain red turns white or something.

I guess we will see in a week or so when the Punisher Preview hits.

oooohhh ****!!!

I forgot about the Zahn Consortium

that would be a cool ass faction or part of the scum faction!!!!!

We have StarVipers already, now we need Skipray Blastboats for Tiber Zann!

Is everyone forgetting The Wilde Karde, you can include Mara Jade in a z95 as well.

And that other unpronounceable heavy assault fighter they have.

I bet you have the Rihkxyrk in mind?

I would like to see an Ace Pilot with the following special ability:

You are not destroyed when fleeing the battlefield. Instead, you are placed close as possible to the spot where you would land, if the game mat was tied together on the borders.

Of course, it would not make sense, but it's funny.

That's actually a pretty snazzy lookin' ship.

I just assume all 8 of the Privateer fighters from SWG will end up in the game eventually.

Or make them deploy on your starting edge at the start of the next turn. Almost like a lame version of the Picard maneuver.

Pilot skill 6-8 Tie Defender Generics with EPTs

I'd like to see a PS 8-9 Phantom pilot.

I'd like to see a PS 8-9 Phantom pilot.

You must be joking. :P

I'd like to see a "Birth of the Rebellion" Aces pack, with A Z-95 and a Y Wing. One of the major advantages that the TIE Fighter has over the Z-95 is the diversity of pilots available for it. Cracken is good for the Z95, but Blount is super situational. And, while the Y Wing has had some title love courtesy of Scum and Villainy, the Rebels still lack diversity in pilots and, of course, there's still no EPT Y Wing pilot for them.

Here're some cards I'd like to see ( Can you tell I just got Strange Eons the other day? :P )

Aggressor Squadron serves to counter the long over absence of Y Wing EPTs by giving a generic EPT option. I'm not sure how much play it would actually get, but it feels like the kind of card that the Y Wing needs.

Lt. Lepira is designed more or less to be used with the BTL-A4 title, and she'd be a bit of a monster. A Y Wing with White 1 turns? Painful. Low PS compensates somewhat, but she'd be a priority target on the board, no doubt about it.

Davish Krail is designed to be part of a swarm, and will probably end up being too powerful - I originally had his ability working at range 1-2, which would have been crazy. As it is, he'd let, say, a Gold squadron swarm rain Ion Turret shots down like nobody's business, and I think that that would be super cool. And Im dreaming here, so why not? :D

Finally, Grisserno was, in the lore, a Y-Wing general who came up with post Clone Wars tactics that kept the Y Wing relevant, despite its age, by focusing on the use of bombs and torpedoes rather than dogfighting, letting the gunner deal with keeping his tail clear. I think he'd be best suited to being loaded up with bomb loadout, a seismic charge and extra munitions - its the need to load him up with upgrades that justifies the fact that he's cheaper than Dravish despite a higher PS.

Now, the Headhunters! For what it's worth, finding Rebel pilots with any links at all to Headhunters is super difficult, so these four ladies are... tenuous, at best. But that beats making up entirely new pilots, right?

Renci Tosh is a spy in the lore, not primarily a pilot, hence the low PS and the lack of an EPT. I considered a spying related ability, something based around learning your opponents moves or locking out an action, but decided that gaining an evade token when she misses seems appropriate - as someone who isn't primarily a pilot, failing in combat but surviving anyway would be something she'd have to do on a semi regular basis, and this seemed to demonstrate that a little bit.

Da'la's ability is principally meant for use with ordnance that requires you to spend a target lock. If you hit but don't kill your enemy, you get that target lock back for a second go round the next time. It's not very thematic because the character seems pretty minor and there's not much to go on, but I think it's a pretty cool low level pilot ability.

Plourr Ilo was a Rogue Squadron member from the comics who also happened to be a princess who led a squadron of Z-95s once. Like I said, some of these are pretty tenuous. :P Nothing really thematic about her ability, but she did fly with the Rogues, so I wanted it to be pretty good.

Ranna Gorjaye is the Rebel Howlrunner, and maybe even better than Howlrunner herself. In the lore, she's the head of the starfighter wing aboard a starship, so her ability only works on lower PS pilots whom she's supposedly training. Just like Howlrunner, Ranna will be a massive target on the board, but I'd still expect to see her get plenty of play.

So, yeah. Those pilots are what I'd like to see in an aces wishlist, along with 2 sets of Gold/Gray for Y Wings and Bandit/Tala for Zs (they would be useful for those who want to run Rebel Z or Y Swarms but got some of their Zs/Ys from Most Wanted boxes.

Other than pilots, I think a few cool cards for this kind of box would be:

Far Wanderer Unique. Z-95 Title, 1 point. Your upgrade bar gains the Astromech slot.

Yes, this takes the best aspect of the X Wing and gives it to the Z-95, but it's a unique title, so it wont completely replace the X Wing. And since we're adding the Far Wanderer...

Jaden Korr Crew. Rebel Only. 3 points. After you remove a stress token from your ship, you may assign an evade token to a friendly ship at range 1-2.

Jaden was trained by Kyle Katarn, so his ability is a variant on Kyles.

Not sure what else - astromechs of some kind, obviously, maybe a copy of blaster turret so that was available somewhere outside of the HWK pack. Flechette torpedoes for the same reason, maybe some Proton Rockets as well.

One thing I wouldn't like to see in this pack would be an X Wing fix - I'd rather see that in a specific X Wing Aces pack - probably a "Rogues and Wraiths" Pack. You could bring in a bunch of X Wing pilots from the books, and then two separate titles - Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron, and they would offer two separate ways to buff the X Wing, ideally both based around advantages for multiple ships.

One could buff target locks - I was thinking something based on the number of X Wings flown with the title. For example, maybe something along the lines of:

"You may concurrently take and hold as many additional target locks as there are ships in the board with the "Rogue squadron" title."

So basically a free weapons engineer if you fly two of them, or, to all intents and purposes, an automatic target lock on anywhere up to four additional ships if you fly 4 rookies. Pretty cool, and thematic because we see multiple instances of target lock passing in the books.

The Wraith Squadron title would be somewhat simpler, giving straight up point deductions:

"You may decrease the cost of any upgrades on this ship by an amount equal to the number of "Wraith Squadron" titles there are in your squad."

So one wraith squadron X Wing would get, for example, a two point hull upgrade. Not bad. But a 4 Wraith list could have free shield upgrades and still have points left over for ordnance, Astromechs, or an additional ship.

So that's my wishlist. :D

Really good work there. ^
