Does anyone know how to go by public transportations from Frankfurt Hahn to Stahleck?

Hello,

yes, this event looks really promising, I wonder how many of You, CoC maniacs will be there. Me and my fiance will be there, so there's two :-). Sign up! :-)

this week FFG has launched an article about the Stahleck Asylum. for those who havent seen it yet, look here:

http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=895

also, there have been some updates on the stahleck homepage.
especially have a look at the new Out of the Box-tourney format. any suggestions are still welcome!

if there are any questions, feel free to ask here in the forum. others might profit from the answers as well!

since i already got some questions about card legality, i will also post the guidelines here:

- banned for all tourneys (except classic highlander):

ARKHAM EDITION
The Rip-off R82

ELDRITCH EDITION
Rite of Passage R14
Secrets of Bubastis R44
Theosophist Meeting R74
Dream Summoning R104
Saturnalia R134
Born in the Spheres R164
Veneration of Apis R194

- reprints:

All CCG cards, that have been reprinted with exactly the same text in the Coreset, are tourney legal. you will find a complete list of these cards at the stahleck homepage.

- other languages:

cards are tounrey legal in whatever language they are printed. note, that in case of clashing of card texts always the english version takes precedence.

- all tourneys are played with the maximum of 3 copies of each card.

Hey all!

I have a question that I think it's important.

Will there be material for sale (Core Sets, Packs, other games from the FFG) and if yes the price should be around what?

Thanks!

Ashma!

www.eaglecard.org will be present ;-)

even better: you will get 10% discount when coming to stahleck. also no shipping costs, since you get the stuff at the castle. and no fees, since you pay in cash on site.

i have no boardgames in stock, but i can get FFG games at quite good prices. if you are looking for something specific, send me an email to [email protected]

but:

you have to preorder. i will only bring what you have ordered in advance.

you should preorder at least 2 weeks before the event.

Hi Thorondor, I'm planning my travel to tahleck, will you sell some Call of Cthulhu AP'S at Stahleck (in memory of day and maybe the new core Set ??)

no problem fo rme to bring some stuff for sale, even at a good price (10% discount). and i should get the new APs in time (at least i was promised).

by "new coreset" do you mean the reprint of the original corest? i can bring whatever is needed. or are you thinking of the just announced Secrets of Arkham set? i dont think it will be available till then.

just one thing: please preorder what you would like to have. if you change your mind, its okay. but i wont bring anything that is no preordered!

I know I have been kind of away from the forums, but school is a beach (mispelled on purpose xD) .

I am here to ask a big favor:

TO EVERYONE PLAYING IN STAHLECK:

If you want to help the cocdeckbase.com project, please bring decklists of the decks you are playing in order for me to help IGaveHimLife making the first Competitive Decks deckbase!

Thanks everyone!

Ashma

Some more infos for Stahleck 09:

1) some changes to the program and schedule have been necessarry.
Please look at it at www.mischraum.de

- LCG tourney moved from Friday afternoon to Saturday. Some told me, that they cant be there in time, but they would very much like to play this tourney.

- Allied in Madness (team tournament) cancelled. there are many players, that play LCG exclusively on the one hand, on the other many prefer standard. combining i snot possible, so its probably best to cancel this one this year.

- There is no tourney scheduled for Friday afternoon. While tourneys will start in the evening at 19.30, the opening hour at the castle is at 14.00. Time for some casual games, demos for the other LCGs (AGOT and WHI), preparing decks, playing boardgames, chatting, drinking coffee, start drinking beer, explore the castle, visit the famous wineyards, …

- Note, that there are 2 streams of tourneys now: one for LCG only and one for standard.

2) How to become European Champion?

Since there are many who still play standard, there will be 2 championships at this years stahleck event, one for standard, one for LCG. accordingly, both tournaments will not take place at the same time, so players may participate in both, if they want.

3) the last Asylum Pack that is still tourney legal in Stahleck is the second AP of the Dreamlands cycle named In Memory of Day.

i was asked to clarify beforehand, how the card Twilight Gate (from the Twilight Horror AP) is going to be played. there have been some discussions about this already. here is the card text:

Yog Sothoth Event

Cost 2 Twilight Gate

Action: Choose a non-Ancient One character
card attached to one of your domains as a resource.
Put that card into play under your control. If that character
is still in play at the end of the phase, attach it to any
of your domains as a resource.

i guess we all know the intention of this card. thus, lets play according to it, meaning, that you can indeed play any character (except Ancient Ones) as a character.

okay for all???

1) Two separate championships: one for LCG, the other for classic. This will allow any player who can come Saturday to compete.

2) No problems with your rulings on Twilight Gate.

As said Carioz, two championships is more equitable for all players.

1) I think that the idea that Thorondor had is great. Since there will only be one tourney on friday, the impact won't be that big. I also believe that the championship should be as structured. Just one, the player with most points after 3 or more tourneys is the winner. 2 championships is a bit hardcore since for instance, a player that plays just lcg can play both the lcg and classic (at least i think so) may want to do 2 tournaments on Lcg only and 2 tournaments on standard. How could he qualify for champion? Just my 2 cents on this topic.

2) As for the Twilight Gate, just one question comes to mind, can we trigger it multiple times? For instance, drain our domains to play stuff and thens use all character resources to smash?

Not really, you have not the same card's pool in ccg and lcg. A pure Deck in lcg doesn't work very nice against a standard deck even if you are a good player. In standard, it depends if you are a big collectionnable player or not (sure, it's doesn't change anything if you are not a good player). It's not the same spirit, the deckbuilding is not the same. How do you want a player which is playing only LCG's game can make a standard game ? How can make a player, if he wants to make some agot's tourney and some cthulhu's tourney or others games ?

Sure One tourney to know the championship is better. Choose LCG's or CCG's and make only one tourney. The LCG's choice is may be the best choice because you can drain new and old players and there is not two much broken cards. After if all participant is playing in standards format, why not choose the old format.

I have been thinking and maybe the one championship is the best idea, but do not decide a format, as it can push several players away. I would use the idea as given by thorondor and let everyone play in the format they feel more confortable.

during the weekend you will also have the chance to play some boardgames. not all of us want to play COC all the time.

below is a list of all the FFG games existing (according to their own homepage).

if you are interested in boardgames, tell me your favourites (either here in the forum or send me a message).

there is no guarantee the we will have every boardgame available at the castle, but we will try to bring what you want.

of course it is not forbidden to play games from other companies. but it will be difficult to get them, so you probably have to bring them on their own.
