Having taken Chiraneau to 2 tournaments now, my worst losses have been to concentrated fire and, once, to mangler cannon IGs who critted me into uselessness.
Get in close with as many guns as possible and any Decimator will melt.

Take eatin a boat with a mini swarm and pile on the crits, big ships soon lose their power when primary weapons are reduced in strength their turns become red etc.
There is no decimator build that 49 point Corran can't solo. PTL AS Engine R2D2
Take whatever you want with him. 51 points worth of y wings, b wings, a wings, Chewie or Leebo.
Just finished the Tantive campaign missions this past weekend and watching a fat Decimator melt in about three rounds of Single Turbolaser fire (defender doubles his agility -- hahahaha) and five-dice CR-90 primary weapon attacks was a hoot.
Mirror match is probably the worst matchup.
It is not impossible that an Autothruster Soontir can solo a Decimator, barring that the Decimator is not packing Vader crew. Soontir also has the free focus when stressed ability to take on Rebel Captive.
Besides that, Ion Pulse missile, or 2 x Blue Squadron B Wing + Ion Cannon + Tactician can be a real pain. BTL-A4 Y Wings do well too, barring they aren't kited out to range 3. That's why I think the Blues with Ion have a better time.
Pred + R2D2 + C3PO + MF Title + Engine Falcons are good too. Decimators will be hard pressed to ever kill that ship alone. Only Oicunn has a real chance to actually get 2 damage through each turn.

Panic Attack and Roark swarm tactics ion turret control shenanigan builds dealt well with phantom deci, I imagine they'd deal easily with soontir deci.
Swarms. Should be easy to kill the Deci, and Soontir is easier to deal with than super whisper is. Z95 swarm especially, first engagement dump all 8 TL's on the deci and burn it down.
Soontir and 5 ties seems up to the task.
Novelty builds like 4 Phantoms and 5 Autoceptors should also do well, although with RAC hyper action economy game ruining shenanigans you might lose one in the opening engagement.
I also beat it with 4 X Wings once. I had 4 R7's and caught Soontir in a killbox, albeit he didn't have stealth device (I think I rolled high enough to get above it though) and then it was easy to just dump r7 defensive TL's on the deci and stack it with defensive focus until it died.
It's much less annoying to face than pre-nerf deci whisper.
Patrol leader, Vader, Gunner, Obsidian squadron x4
Your deci can autowin against their Soontir and also matches their Deci. And 4 Obsidians should be able to put some hurt on the Deci.
I really love my brobot match up against deci-Fel. It works wonders for me and has become my strongest match up at tournaments.
Killing decimators is all about punching them as hard as you can with as many ships as possible. Even a 2 ship build can burn down a decimator pretty fast due to 0 agi. Anything with 2 hlc just crushes that barn.
If you're taking a rebel 'swarm', you might consider bringing Etahn A'baht. I've had great success with him against a Decimator, but it was a 200 pt. game. So others probably know better how effective Etahn is in a 100 pt. game.

That's funny, because here I was thinking Dual IG88 was one of the easier matchups for Deci + Fel.

BBBBZ brings the dice
Panic Attack brings less dice, but holy **** does soontir hate them (and cheri isn't fond of losing his boost + evade, either)
Corran (or E'athn, if that's more your thing) is just lol-worthy with PTL & R2-d2. If he's only eating Cheri's attacks, he's simply not going to die. Then he hits cheri with 2 attacks or E'ath pulls crits on those 12 hull until you flip something useful ![]()
I think Etahn isn't really conducive to countering a deci. You can't field enough ships with him to make him worth it and one or two RAC shenanigans game ruining always 4/4 hit shots is going to kill him.
Better off with just more Z's.
or 6 Z's and a generic E Wing.
generic E-wings are pretty horribly points in-efficient and Zs are fine, but prone to getting absolutely run over with their bleh stats and maneuverability (which is probably why we see BBBBZ, and not ZZZZZZZZ though I reckon M.o.v also factors)
a PTL + r2-d2 E-wing, however, should never die in a one on one against a PWT. The combination evade + focus + shield regen is just that powerful, unless you dice really, consistently hate you.
the crits on top of that are just gravy, and E'athn affects his own attacks

The thing is you're still flying 7 ships and you can afford to splurge a little on something like a generic E Wing and an R2 or whatever.
I agree other swarm+ 28 point ships may be better but it's still not too bad. How about 6 Z's an ORS, and a one point upgrade? Try to run the ORS as a blocker, and if you never successfully block anything you still have a rather beefy 7th gun.

Gold with Ion Turret, BTL-A4 and R3A2
Bandit Squadron
Chirpy is forced to shoot at Biggs. Wedge ensures that Biggs doesn't actually take any damage from crits, effectively negating Chiraneau's pilot ability, so Biggs lives longer. Gold Squadron can either add dice and stress on Chiraneau (which locks down Ysanne, Target Locks and Engine Upgrades), or add stress onto Soontir to limit PTL and make his movements predictable. Does well against other common archtypes, as well.
I don't fly Chirpy, but I do fly a Decimator and my worst enemy is Dash (even more so with Corran Horn). His placement is less predictable and regardless of his use of HLC/Mangler he is going to be able to bring a lot of pain to a Decimator.
In fact I hate Dash so much that I've even lost a recent game from over-engaging on Dash - out of pure spite - at a time when I actually had the rest of my enemies list in my jaws and ready for the kill, causing me a total defeat instead.
I destroyed the deci in two turns of fire last weekend with XXB. First crit was your pilot skill is now 0, and I followed that up with 2x double damage crits, I was in shock how lucky my rolls where, not to mention I was in range 1. Then the after the next turn I 1 shot an uncloaked echo, its was great
