after stuff like Watchdogs and Alien marine w.e fabricating gameplay, I'm not holding out any hope until I see the actual product. For what it's worth, though, that video just oozes star wars and is a work of art in its own right

It'll come out... it's only 5 months from release, this isn't a case where it's just a rumor, or the publisher doesn't know what they're doing. EA and DICE have their sh*t together enough to get this thing polished and released on time.

And you're right, this is truly looking like they focused on immersion. It's Star Wars through and through. Really well done, it seems!

Battlefront looks incredible. I'm seriously considering buying a next gen console just for Battlefront.

It has neither and will have neither. It's a GCW ground combat game.

The starfighter combat is planetary (you have terrain rather than a black skybox) and Clone Wars Legacy (using the unused resources from what was left of TCW's scripts) is the only prequel stuff Disney are doing.

Besides, you shouldn't preorder it anyway, not this early. Maybe a week before release to get the goodies but preordering now isn't economically sensible. You only preorder when there are potential supply issues.

And preorders are always a bad idea. AAA games tend to have a super awesome collector's edition come out sometime within a year of release. I'd buy the standard game if I HAVE to play it and then wait for the super awesome everything's in this box box.

Not me. I still want a true space fighter simulator. If they threw in space battles in this game, it would just reduce the chance of a real X-wing vs. Tie Fighter coming back. I say leave them seperate and make the new X v T already!

It's REALLY not that early. 5 months isn't too far off. They had the powerful Frostbite 3 engine in place already, so it is likely just a matter of tweaks, bug squashing, and small adjustments at this point.

triple A games have to show the best of the best and won't wheel something out without undue polish. Couple this trend with the horrid reputation early access games have been generating on steam, and I could see the devs taking extra precautions not to release a pre-alpha preview until the game looked finished

Well I'm sure we all remember the mess battlefield four was, so bad it dropped the share price significantly and it's the same people responsible for that doing this.

By comparison I'm tempted to preorder fallout and get that pipboy.
