3 Rebel options for a local event

By Horeath, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi All,

Thinking about three different options for an upcoming event. Would love community thoughts on these:

List A:

Objectives:

- Advanced Gunnery

- Fleet Ambush

- Dangerous Territory

Nebulon B Escort (57)

- Yvaris

- Garm Bel Iblis

=87 Points

Nebulon B Support (51)

- Salvation

- XX7 Turbolasers

= 64 Points

Assault Frigate (72 points)

- Electronic Countermeasures

- Paragon

=84 Points

2 Awing Squads

Tycho Celchu

2 Xwing Squads

= 64 Points

299 Total.

I've played this list for 3 wins last week, a mirror match and 2 against Victory Heavy Imperials. Untested against Gladiators.....

List B:

Assault Frigate (72)

- Raymus Antilles

- Paragon

=60 Points Squadrons

300 total.

They all look pretty good to me. Who's your commander in list C?

Would it be worth dropping an A-wing to get Overload Pulse onto one of the corvettes? That could be a pretty devastating first shot for the rest of the fleet to follow up on...

The biggest difference in the 3 seems to be the commander, and I haven't used Bel Iblis yet so I'm curious how he works out for you (clearly well enough!), vs Dodonna.

3rd list is Dodonna on the Neb B (making it 78 points and the list balance to 300).

Overload isn't a bad idea, and I'd also save enough points to get Leia onto a Corvette (which I love to ensure my bigger ships can use a variation order if required at <3 turns notice), however I would feel pretty exposed with only 4 squadrons.....

Maybe I don't rate squadrons highly enough, but 4 vs 5 squadrons doesn't seem like that much of a difference to me (especially as you keep Tycho). I'm assuming your squadrons are there simply to keep bombers from overwhelming you, not to gain space superiority in a rapid and decisive manner. For simple interdiction, 4 squadrons should be more than enough to keep the TIE bombers off your back for at least 3 turns...enough time for your ships to slag the enemy ships. Which they'll do even quicker with the Overload Pulse in action....

I'm pretty sure that I'm the guy that lost to list A 3 times in a week, so I would also appreciate comments on any particular weaknesses in that list...

Bid low and choose mobility based objectives. It's a list that works well with the ships together, so if you can split them up they will be more vulnerable.

Yes, but in a tournament (or simulated Tournament) I guess you cannot redesign your force or objectives one you see what the opponent has.

I imagine list A would be vulnerable to a Corvette or Gladiator swarm, but this isn't an option for me as I don't have the miniatures.

I will simply have to practice with my ol' Neb Bs and wait for my fighter pack to arrive...

David you can always borrow my Corvette's if you want to spam them. That would provide 4 total including yours.....
