Not a huge fan of the yellow canopy on the black/purple Z-95, but it looks fantastic on the blue one! Nice, clean painting... unfortunately it's been too many years for me to remember who's supposed to be who based on the paint schemes. Can you give us a hint?

Awesome, now I want to paint my Zs like Seekers. I had an original Starscream growing up, and I instantly recognised the yellow cockpit. Great touch.

Think the Z's are pretty obvious, clearly inspred by Thundercracker and Skywarp.

More of the Zeekers are underway, I had started on a Starscream, but after priming it white I noticed they were a bit too liberal with the glue on one of the wings obscuring some of the detail, which isn't too bad, but very noticable with a light grey paintscheme, so I will turn that guy into one of the coneheads instead, it should be less of an issue with coloured wings, starscream will have to wait till I buy another most wanted

but next in the painting que will be a pair of brobots, or as I like to call them Rumble and Frenzy

These are fantastic. Have considered doing your Xwings as the aerial bots?

de predacon and incecticon where easy to spot. (as i was the mentioned friend ) as where the seekers. didnt get the stunticon..

next question of course which is the red one

Obviously Cartoon is Canon so Rumble is purple, Frenzy is Black/Red

did a quick paintscheme in photoshop, although not sure if I have the proper shade of purple paint for rumble, might have to make a trip to the shop first to see if I can find something close enough

As for doing X-wings as aerialbots, I only started playing and buying a few weeks ago and so far have only bought Scum, I don't even have a starterbox yet , One of the reasons I started Scum was so I could do outlandish paintjobs without it looking too much out of place, I think Rebels and Empire would probably look better with more traditional schemes, although I have seen some more colourful interpretations that look great. But for the time being I'm sticking to scum (and Decepticons)

Let's not get into the Red vs blue argument because obviously they're both wrong and Rumble is purple

Weird. Looks like there are sources going both ways. The comics have Frenzy in blue and Rumble in red. That's what I'm more familiar with. The cartoon might be the other way. Never noticed that before.

Okay, we need Starscream, Megatron, and Soundwave ships. ASAP.

The Thundercracker one looks especially good IMO. Is that Scyk meant to be Barrage? Or maybe Venom?

Thanks, the scyk is meant to be venom, although I'm sure Barrage will make an appearance eventually.

the plans at the moment after finishing the Brobots are to wait for the Raider to get released, so one of my mates can do a big order which will allow me to pick up some reinforcements, not sure exactly what, as that will depend on if wave 7 is released by then. But I have had some thoughts about future paintjobs.

obviously I want to expand the Z's to a nice swarm, I have 3 at the moment, 2 more boxes of Most wanted will give enough to at least do all the G1 named Seekers, so that means Starscream, Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet. Not sure what I will do about the 7th, I could do sunstorm, or one of the rainmakers, but I also have an idea for when the hounds tooth is released.

I'll be looking to expand the Y-wings, 2 boxes of most wanted will get me 2, which will be painted as Drag Strip and Dead End, which means I will need one more to turn into Wildrider to give me the 4 small stunticons, not sure at the moment what to do about Motormaster, but hopefully there will be a suitable large ship in one of the future releases.

I also want at least one Firespray, but no idea yet how to paint it, thinking maybe Megatron, although I think Galvatron might fit better, but will have to think about it

The Hounds tooth, will want at least one and maybe more, in any case the first one will probably painted up in Soundwave colours, and I'm thinking to then use the left over Z-95, and do some minor conversions and turn him into Lazerbeak to use as the pup.

Scyks/Starvipers, will want a few more Scyks, which will be more insecticons, but I also want a few starvipers and honestly they look like they were made to be insecticons just worried that I will run out of insecticon schemes, if I do both the Scyk and the Starvipers as insecticons, as there are only 7 G1 insecticons

As for Devastator/constructicons, would love to paint something up in that green/purple scheme, but it will either have to be a swarm of 6 suitable small ships, or more likely, a huge ship. The alternative for a huge ship would be trypticon but I think I like Devastator better, in any case he'll have to wait till a suitable ship is released.

Also looking to give divebomb some predacon buddies, although obviously they wont be Hawks, might do 4 Khiraxz fighters, but that something I'll have to think about once they're released

You've gotta buy some Reprolabels to slap on those dudes. They are awesome!

Now, how about some Beast Wars?

So oddly enough I had the poster/catalog foldout from the first run of transformers in my pocket when I clicked on this thread. So according to that Rumble is red and Frenzy is blue.

Also these look amazing, and I love that you picked the ultra obscure Deluxe insecticon for the Scyk (I always wanted that one).

Hadn't heard about reprolabels before, they're nice but I fear even the smallest ones are a bit too big for the small ships, the smallest symbols look to be about 3.8mm which is still quite big, perfect for the large ships though, although I'm tempted to just get some transfers made, and maybe even change it up to a small purple mandalorian skull to tie it back into star wars.

I think in most sources (toys, comics, Japanese cartoon) rumble is red, and frenzy is blue (or purple), except for the (US) cartoon in which rumble is clearly purple. I grew up with the cartoon, so I don't care about what other sources say, to me Rumble is purple

Frenzy just sounds more red to me anyway. But yeah, I grew up with the old cartoon too, and though Rumble was the blue/purple one.

small update, still working on my first Agressor, almost done, just need to finish up the black and a bit of the yellow on the bottom, but the basic colourscheme is done

Also working on the next Z-95, did a small conversion, to make it look a bit more like Dirge, the decepticon seeker which the colourscheme will be based on

This thread alone really makes me wish I could paint

Since you already have Venom (Deluxe insecticons rule!) How about an Agressor painted up as Chop Shop?

And how about a Starviper painted up as MIndwipe?

To bad the Decimator isn't Scum, it would make a cool Shockwave.
