Uncancelable hits?

By EvaUnit02, in X-Wing

Yesterday I flew against a list that had a Scum Y-Wing that could deal uncancelable hits (crits were still cancelable) I asked my opponent to verify that the hits were only uncancelable by dice and he said no, they were simply uncancelable period.

Can someone point me to a pilot or upgrade that does this? I can't seem to find it in my collection.

Probably Autoblaster. Not sure how to post a link to the card itself, the Autoblaster Turret's effect is: "Your [hit] can't be canceled by defense dice. The defender may cancel [crit] results before [hit]."

So you should have been able to use tokens. Unsure of any other upgrades that have such an effect.

If memory serves, Evade tokens have been FAQed to be equivalent to simply adding an evade result to your roll, meaning they don't cancel autoblaster hits.

Like this.

Yeah you can't use evade tokens either. However it's under autoblaster in the faq they havnt faqd autoblaster turret. However the wording is the same so logic would say that it covers both autoblaster and autoblaster turret

I think there is a FAQ that makes tokens count as "dice change" meaning a rolled autoblaster hit is indeed unavoidable. I'll try to find the rule

Edit: NINJA'ED!

Yep as stated Evade Token are treated as Dice results per latest FAQ. Make Ten Numb a pain with it. Good news for defender is it is only a range 1 attack.

C3P0 and evade tokens were updated in the faq to add dice to your evade roll. Autoblaster canon/turret became more powerful but still limited to range 1.

Kavil + autoblaster is insane, or even generic pilots with y wing title are hench. Throw an unhinged or r2 astromech in there too.

But yes, auto blaster weapons are amazing and oft overlooked. A really good counter to high agility ships (any tie models except bombers, a and e wings, starvipers)

The biggest disadvantage with auto blasters is that they are range 1 weapons only. The cannon is way overpriced (5 points for technically fire power 2). The turret is a deal at 2 points and able to fire out of arc for 1 less dice than the cannon.

still seems kinda jerky though to just say 'no' when you ask for evidence of the ruling (unless he is a buddy or something, then I wouldn't care since I'd trust it)

Call me a jerk then. While I'm not the person being referenced, I have left a game before even playing it because I had less points than my opponent, so I gave him init, and he refused to take it since he didn't know I could choose. So, I cut my losses there and said screw it, I'm not fighting with you on everything that's been faq'd in the last year or so instead of pointing them all out in the FAQ.

that's a valid point - perhaps I was reading too much into the tone I perceived the opponent was taking. Also - the situations are a little different since his refusal to justify the behavior directly benefited him (albeit legally) whereas yours was more strategic. But - point taken, if they would argue that it would have been a long game :)

For the record, my opponent was a nice guy and there was no ill-will between us. There isn't a lot of time in these tournaments and it was my responsibility to understand the FAQ. Out of respect for both my opponent and the time limit, I accepted his answer without caveat.

Don't forget Ten "The Sniper" Numb either. His Crit cannot be canceled.

And Blount with an Ion Pulse. He always hits, so the missile will do a damage and double Ion. Of course he's a bit of a one trick pony and 20 points. Probably better in Epic format.

I'm with you Khyros. I'm often the TO, so when my opponent argues with me I have to decide if it's worth fishing out the FAQ, consenting, or conceding because I'd rather not play a game that won't be any fun.

It's the same with Ten Numb, FYI.

You cannot spend evade tokens to block his crit, just as you can't spend evade tokens to block Autoblasters and Autoblaster Turrets.

It has to do with Evade tokens (and C3PO) adding to the dice pool or something like that.
