I have a very unique situation coming up in my campaign. My players are aware that this coming session is going to be a special in-game event that we'll actually be partially celebrating in real life. Everyone's bringing some food, I'm have a cookie-cake being made with a inquisitorial rosette on it, and I've come up with a good excuse to video tape it. One of my senior acolyte NPCs will be proposing to another, and before the players know exactly what he's doing, in order to "accurately describe the scene" I'm going to pull my girlfriend up in front of everyone and then read her my proposal poem, giving her the ring.
That's the entire purpose for the "special session", but I wanted to do some light hearted story first. My group just recently went through some character changes, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a little mission to determine their leadership. I figured possibly send them to a location to retrieve a package for their inquisitor, and they are confronted with some sort of puzzle or situation that would force them to work as a team. Then whoever displays the most leadership would become the new party leader. Then, once they'd solved the situation they'd recieve the package that they were strictly ordered not to open. Then they take it to the drop point only to find a rented out bar, where some guardsman form the senior acolytes old regiment, the inquisitor and other senior acolytes are socializing. The inquisitor could tell the group that its a "welcome back party" for a previous senior acolyte that was mortally wounded in the last session. (He's hoverchairbound now, but at least alive). Then they open the package and discover that it's the cake I bought.
Anyway, before I ramble more, what I need help coming up with is mission that will force the group to work as a team, and test their leadership, but that won't take terribly long. Preferably something that they could have to accomplish on this pick up and drop mission. Any ideas?
