This campaign is inspired by one from Star Fleet Battles. I have modded some details for Armada. It's a rough description, run with it though if you like. Unfortunately I do not have a whole lot of time to playtest, but I will do what I can.
One force was fighting its way closer and closer to an opponent's home/target planet.
Each side has a set number of fleet points, I'll throw out 4,000 for the invader 3,000 for the defender. (may have to be in a pool since purchasing huge fleets of minis is expensive).
The "map" has 8 sectors lined up leading to a "home" planet.
Each round the invader attacks a sector with a fleet built from their points. The defender builds a fleet to try to repel the invader.
The invader always deploys their fleet on the board first.
After a battle is fought (to the death or after 6 rounds) the round is over.
At the end of a round, each side gets a number of repair points (say 20) to patch up any ships they may have left. One point brings a damaged squadron to full strength. Follow the repair costs in the RR for everything else.
If the invader wins a battle he advances one sector, fills out his fleet and attacks again, the defender gets their fleet ready as well.
This continues, sector after sector until the invader is destroyed (out of fleet points) or reaches the home/target planet.
Once in sector 0 (home planet) 2 battles are fought, after the 1st battle, give each player an extra 400 fleet points plus 10 repair points and fight the 2nd battle.
If the invader wins, the target planet is bombarded to dust, blown up by the death star, etc and so on.
If the defender wins, THE PLANET IS SAVED!
Campaign Idea: INVASION
I remember this. God, it must be 30 year since I last played Star Fleet Battles....
On the bright side though, my wife still says: 'The inner child is strong with this one'
An excellent take on a classic scenario: Keep up the good work RedPriest
