Son of Skywalker

By Cremate, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

When can this card be played?

"(Luke Skywalker). After a figure resolves an activation, ready your Deployment card."

At first I unwittingly assumed it could only be played on my own turn, after doing an activation of one of my own figures, but then it dawned - when an opponent did exactly that - on me that it might not be restricted in that way. Could I perhaps play it during my opponent's turn as he concludes the activations of one of his figures?

Initially my instinct was no, but having looked through the rules I cannot find anything to support that. Now I'm leaning toward it being possible. What's your thoughts?

I'm pretty sure "When a figure resolves an activation." Is when any figure, of any faction, completes its activation.

Note that it is the resolution of any figure 's activation, which I believe means that you could play this card after a single Stormtrooper figure completed its activation, even if the other two Stormtroopers on the Deployment Card still needed to resolve their activations. (Not that this would give you any advantage, as the other Stormtroopers would still have to activate before it is your turn again...)

It's funny, in my last skirmish game, my opponent also thought the card was limited in the fashion of the OP. IMO, the card is very clear that it can be used after any figure's activation.

This is why Luke is included in almost every competitive Rebel build.

It also would probably be unwise to do this, if Luke is vulnerable to that group of figures, as you're telegraphing your intention to activate him again this round. The other 2 troopers might decide to take bad pot shots at him instead of doing what they were originally going to do...

But yes, it can be used after any figure's activation...

Yes, any figure's activation. Including his own, if he is the last figure to activate.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!
