  • Soontir is the imperial ace of choice right now, he is amazing.
  • Yorr helps soontir shed stress and can ease the hurt of rebel captive which is seeing lots of play
  • Engine Upgrades on both shuttles lets them keep pace with faster ships, lets them boost out of trouble when they are damaged or outflanked and allow them to get more shots on the enemy

I find your use of shuttles disturbing... the good kind. I always like a good shuttle list and this one has two. Can it compete? Probably, if flown well...and I know you fly shuttles at least as often as I do. I think it could have some success but I think things could go south very very quickly with this list.

Also, if Yorr takes stress then Soontir gets no focus token. I assume you are just using it as insurance and allowing yourself to kturn with an interceptor every now and then. Yorr also helps your other shuttle do the infinite stall.

Why Mangler on Yorr? Just seems like if you're using him to pull stress and put on stress that those points could be spent elsewhere.

Yorr is insurance vs rebel captive which is the crew card of choice on every decimator iv seen in my area. Mangler is there to hurt the big base ships out there. Chomping thru a falcon or decimators hull is no fun in a timed match - mangler gives me a chance to disrupt them with a disabling crit or do extra damage.

I can see how taking those 4pts as something else like advanced sensors could work.

im also noticing the re-emergence of the tie-defender as a viable option but at nearly 50pts to run a named defender with HLC thats a hefty investment.

wouldnt the stress trigger the focus, then yorr take the stress leaving the focus behind, it doesnt say WHILE Fel is stressed right? so its reasonable to believe it would even open his options for the next movement for not being stressed

When another friendly ship at Range 1-2 would receive a stress token, if you have 2 or fewer stress tokens, you may receive that token instead.
looks like the stress doesnt even reach Soontir so he wont get the focus unless gets a 2nd stress from K-turning or Push the Limits 2nd action. So yeah, having the ability to white K-Turn and then take 2 more actions plus getting a free focus is rather good. But as i posted earlier, its really there as a counter two Rebel Captive which will stop Push the Limit dead in its tracks if Soontir fires on the ship carrying it. :(

i was always told to leave the doomshuttle as barebones as possible. so id drop EU and make the mango canon a HLC with a 1 point bid.

this is the theory. doomshuttle will die so why give it anymore points in upgrades? well, with engine upgrade you have better movement options and will be able to get more shots on the enemy (even fast ships). you can also get out of trouble if u r outflanked or they are sitting in behind you. the movement dial for the shuttle is terrible if u r turning. going straight, its not as bad. turn 2 or 3 you can really surprise people with how fast ur boosting shuttle is. its possible to get a few good flanking shots off that wouldnt be possible without engine upgrade, you can then zoom away and reposition for another pass (more shots on the enemy are good, even on turn 5 ot 6).

I have been using soontir fel a lot in my 2 shuttle lists lately. Forces the opponent to pick the easy points or get the late game ship. As long as you make it difficult to get soontir I think the list will do great. Ive come out with 100-0 doing it.

Having your vader shuttle set up will help with other soontir fels and finish off ships. I like your reason for yorr and he'll help make the other shuttle more manuverable.

The only concern I'd see is if you'd face a Vader crew especially on a decimator for turrets. Ive been using one in other lists as patrol leader ( vader, gunner, rebel captive). A similar one won a regional with 4 tie fighters. 2 rounds of shooting and soontir is gone (or one if someone is lucky). Maybe a shield upgrade instead? Could drop the mangler cannon and get a 3 point upgrade. Ion cannon?

To put me at 100 points. Was a fun build and worked well because nobody wants to attack the cows, until I got soontir killed that is...

What about this 100 pt build:

Yorr( 24) + Mangler (4) + Engine (4) + Tactician (2) x2 = 36

OGP(21) + Vader (3) + Gunner (5) 29

Soontir (27) + PTL (3) + title + autothrusters (2)+ stealth device(3) 35

OGP can trigger Vader twice with Gunner and against Soontir or Whisper potentially take them out quickly. Gunner also gives a better chance of hitting in the early rounds on ships with higher hull and shielld values.

It's one of those lists where losing Soontir too early will mean a loss 75% of the time.

I bet it'll work though.

I think I took it to a tourney and went 3-1, losing hard to a Corran + Chewy. I DID beat a Corran + Han though with no losses, so it IS capable of it.

I'd certainly play your list or some variation. I do think dropping to an OGP instead of Yorr will actually make your list easier to fly. Having the same PS just feels way more flexible, even with Yorr giving you stress steals.

As others have said, I'd consider Gunner some where. Overall, I like the list idea! I like that you added Vader and Tacticians, both are on my list of favorite cards.

I'll second that. Even with EU, if it's just down to your shuttles, you'll never shake anything. Very high risk high reward, but a lot of fun.

Yorr + Fel: The faq is specific on this. The stress never goes to Fel so no focus.

Another use for Yorr in this list is to park your doomshuttle. Pull the stress from the red stop and let him get that vader shot in. Lets your prey come to you, because even a 1 straight on a shuttle sometimes goes way too far. This also means your doom shuttle can perform the red 2 turn twice in a row if needed, meaning you can drop the EU on it if you're careful. Being able to squeeze in a FCS on yorr would be nice.

You could even fly yorr behind the ogp and keep them parked indefinitely, at the expense of yorr's action. A kind of crappy 1 direction fortress that can be easily flanked, but that's besides the point ha.

In practice, I've never really been able to boost away out of danger with a shuttle. Boosting requires an action, and my shuttles always seem to be stressed.... mostly through judicious use of the red stop causing collisions. The only greens are the 1's, and a 1 bank isn't far enough to get you out of a jam, especially at ps2 (ogp). Don't get me wrong though, EU is still incredible on shuttle.
