Battle of River Plate
Usable units -
- x1 VSD
- x2 NebB
- x1 CR 90
- No snub fighters
- Upgrade cards of personal choice
Set up
- Imperials start in the middle of the table while Rebels start at the bottom. Both fleet is recommended to be at least distance of 6 from each other based on the squadron range ruler
- 1 side of the table is designated as Montevideo aka safe area
- Once game starts, players navigate their ships as they seem fit. The map is only used to deploy the ships.
Rules
- The game is divided into 2 rounds of 6
- 1st round of 6:
- Graf Spee, represented by the VSD, must be destroyed by the Rebels. Successful destruction of VSD in this 1st round of 6 ensures Rebel victory.
- VSD entering the safe area in this half is deemed to have surrendered and victory goes to the Rebels
- Failure to destroy the VSD constitutes an Imperial victory. Following which, 2nd round of 6 is activated
- 2nd round of 6:
- VSD must evacuate to the safe area. Successful evacuation to safe area constitutes an Imperial victory
- The Rebel's objective in this half is to destroy or delay the VSD from entering safe area. Successful destruction of VSD constitutes a Rebel victory.
- If the VSD does not reach the safe area by end of 6 turns, victory goes to the Rebels and the VSD is deemed to have surrendered.
- Rebel ships are not allowed to enter the safe area.

Tried this against my sister when we only used the core set. VSD obliterated her NebB but at the 5th turn of the 2nd half, her CR90 placed devastating shots into the VSD and killed it when it was just so close to the safe area.
Edited by cruiser2710I consider getting myself a stack of rebel transports and make a convoy scenario with Nebulon frigates and Corvettes escorting a number of transports and then getting Ambushed.
