Help building the most defensive/cheesey ship I can

By WhiskeyReckless, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Very new to X-wing, but I am really loving the game so far!

As a fun experiment I'm trying to come up with the most defensive/annoying ship to shoot at, I'm not taking into account viabilty in a competitive setting, hit points or attack power. As an example

Corran Horn

Push the Limit

R2-F2

Stealth Device

Sensor Jammer

Which should in theory give him at range 2, 5 green dice, an evade token and cancelling a hit.

I know there's plenty of builds that can chew through that to still hit him, but it was still fun to see my roommates face the first time he shot at me at range three and I picked up all 6 green dice! (Although the look on my face when I rolled 5 blanks later in the game had to have been just as priceless)

If anyone has any similiar Cheese builds I would love to hear em!

Well, there's Han Solo with Millenium Falcon, C-3PO and R2-D2 crew which ignores three damage a turn (guaranteed evade from C-3PO, evade token from MF title, regenerate a shield with R2-D2). That one won Worlds.

Cheese? HAH look no further than the falcon with the droids

basically the most defensive, most annoying, cheesiest ships are at the top levels of competition atm

just copy any fat han or chiraneau build; they're exactly what you're looking for

don't rely on green dice; the only person they'll annoy is you :P

I guess you could also try sensor jammer, rebel captive whisper. It's a pain in the ass to even catch, let alone shoot

well, there may also be r2-f2 Biggs behind a Tactical Jammer Space Fringer and chaperoned by Jan Ors Kyle or Luke with r2-d2 or r5p9 and draw their fire

Xizor + PTL + Virago + ATs + Sensor Jammer + ID (Glitterstim when its released)

Is pretty tanky.

Corran

Ptl

Sensor Jammer

R2-D2

Shield Upgrade

Depending on the squad you are facing drop SJ for Advanced Sensors.

Thanks everybody for the replies!

General consensus seems to be Falcon. I usually play imps and my roommate plays rebels. I have always found the Falcon super annoying to fight, but after looking up C-3PO and R2-D2 (crew) and I'm really glad we don't have the Tanitive IV expansion!

It's a running joke that the best upgrade my opponent can equip are my awful dice rolls. Seriously how many times do I need to roll 4 blank evade dice in a row before I appease the Dice Gods!? Using Biggs as a meat shield sounds fun! Is R2-D2 a decent choice for him? I can imagine he would get focused down pretty fast and the 2 agility is rough!

He gets to use other people as meat shields as well which is an idea that sounds entertaining to mess around with. It's too bad the StarViper doesn't have an evade action, but another ship with Boost and Barrel Roll sounds something I would like. Its definitely high on my buy list. I keep hearing about these fabled Autothrusters and how they can help my squishy Interceptors last past one round of getting shot at!

I usually fly against Corran and I hate, hate, hate regenerating shields! It's not enough the Rebels already have ALL the shields? When we switch teams again I am for sure playing this build or something very similiar!

I have all sorts of fun with Kenkirk (VT-49) with Jerjerrod and a couple throw away crew, with determination and a prox mine for fun.

That determination card isn't always the best, but my second tourney, I and my opponent were down to our last ships and few hull. He fires his shot at me as we near the end and rolls 3 crits.. I proceed to flip the first card, see it is a pilor damage card and toss it to the side. He stops me and we discuss the card for a moment... he is not pleased as I show him.. determination says discard pilot crits.. then flip 2 more pilot crit cards and watch him get really steamed.. I then roll my damage for the shot back, and he rolls no evades and I take his ship, and the match.. haha he was quite deflated at that point.. so.. dont always disregard that determination card..

I pair this ship with a couple bombers with prox mines to add to the fun and keep the enemy nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.. lol
