Best 75 point list for 30 min. tourney

By higgie301, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I was thinking one Fat Han would be most likely not die in 30 min! Can anyone think of a better build?

Chewbacca with both droids is technically more survivable, but less damage output

This Fly jax near your main target allowing Fel to opportunist roll an additional Dice and get focused. with a 5 point Init bid.

The 30 minute timer is the killer here.

Fat Han may be hard to kill but as mentioned Chewie would be even more survivable if lower damage output and less arc dodging.

My thoughts go any number of hard to kill two-ship lists that currently stack on the upgrades but which could do without. I'd also be looking into a Fat Decimator or any number of two big ship lists which have a lot of points to slug through but would get twice the firepower.

5 Prototype As with Refit.

I Think a rebel 3 ship might b real nice for 30 min game

Biggs - 25 pts

R2d2 - 4 pts

Stealth device - 3 pts

Rookie pilot x wing 21 pts

Blue squadron b wing 22 pts

Not too great for mov though. .....

At least make 3 of them Obsidians. Or do this:

Howlrunner w/ Swarm Tactics, Stealth

4 Obsidians

Backstabber (16)

Just blow up 17 points worth of enemies then keep Kenkirk safe. If they don't take out Backstabber early, you'll get much too much value out of him for the sixteen points. If they do take him out early, you'll get much too much value out of Lone Wolf. The Rebel Captive will help people from getting too terribly tricky on you, like Whisper and Soontir. If you get a lucky R2 forward arc shot with the Decimator, it can put your opponent in a real pinch thanks to Tactician.

The way I see it there are two ways your opponents can play it:

1) They can put all their points into one very hard to kill ship, then have a second, easier to kill ship to assist. If your easy to kill ship is fewer points than theirs (backstabber should be on the low-ish, unless they opt for a SUPER fat 60 pointer and then an A-Wing or Z-95) you'll win after 30 minutes.

2) Your enemy goes with a swarm list, which is much worse for the Decimator, but you can accomplish the same thing by popping 1 or 2 guys then flying away and hiding. Eventually they'd be able to catch and defeat you in a longer match, but with only 30 minutes it could take awhile, especially considering the fact that they'll have to set a swarm worth of dials each turn.

Thanks everyone great input.

This seems like a horrible idea, especially without any restrictions on ships. All it's going to be are fatties and super ships, a hyper concentrated version of the Turretwing meta.

Hell, why even run two ships? Just load up Han as fat as possible and take the large initiative bid. Don't include a Z, that will just give your enemy points and we can't have that now, can we?

I kind of agree, but if one were interested in playing ftw and trying to shake it up, it might be fun to run 2x Mandalorian Mercenary, one with Lone Wolf an the other with Predator. 'Teach 'them kids what bounty hunting is all about. Easier for the two of them to kill a super fat ship then the other way around. The 10 HP would take awhile for a single superfat to whittle through if you used your actions defensively.

Edit: Here's another fun one to try if turtling up isn't your style and you wanted to make some heads explode.

Corran's ability is uniquely suited to the task of punching damage through on fat turtles who can mitigate a certain amount of DPS per turn. Combine his double tap with a load of Protons from Jake to make your opponents invincible flagship start smoldering.
