I tried this list a little differently, where Boba had Tactician, VI and an Ion Cannon, but Boba was really suffering from a lack of actions. His ability is online less than 50% of the time, and he has too many points invested in him to be ineffective in combat. It was intended to be a control list, but it was just too difficult to utilize correctly.

This new version supposes that PS8 is decent enough for most of the existing field, and that if you're at R1 of an opponent and think therefor that Predator and Boba's ability are redundant, remember that rolling multiple blanks is a real thing that can occur when you're rolling 4 red dice, so Predator can actually support the pilot ability, rather than just overlap with it.

While I will miss the PS10 with an Inertial Dampener of the original list, I think that this list has real potential. Push the Limit and the K4 Droid are both very good upgrades in general, which I have considered, but I think that the greens on the Firespray dial are too restrictive. Using this setup, you're much more free to be unpredictable in your maneuvers, boosting only when the impact would be much greater than the pair of focus tokens.

What are your thoughts on such a list? Your input is appreciated.

I think in this case LW is better than Predator. The 1 extra point lets you get inertial dampeners which can be handy. There's a good chance Boba will be your last ship since the thugs are more threatening to a lot of things (ion) and also relatively easier to kill, so you should get good mileage out of LW even if you start all your ships together (it won't take long for Boba to get some distance from the thugs)

I've considered Lone Wolf, but I'm typically not good enough about keeping all my ships out of the jumble. That said, the goal is obviously to have Boba as the last man standing near the end, so I'll give it a shot. When I tried piloting the control build, I definitely separated Boba early, so that if the enemy turned from the Ys to try and focus damage on my primary ship, I could Ionize them from the rear, which is a position the Ys love to be in.

I guess if I keep the Ys as near the enemy ships as possible, then I'll get Boba to activate one way or another. LW when too far away from the action, and his pilot skill when he's up in the biz. Either of those abilities combined with Recon Specialist certainly adds to his staying power. I just don't like things that restrict my flying, and have been leaning more towards the constant reliability of Predator, but the defensive aspect combined with the extra full stop maneuver could prove more valuable. I'll try flying both builds and seeing how I do. Thanks for your input.
