"No big monsters" and agents

By AndrewMM, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hmmm, today I am full of doubts....

Some questions instruct the OL to choose monsters "only with small monsters" or "without big monsters" (which is the same, right?). Could OL chose a group of small monsters, then replace some of them with a big Agent?

I do not think so. The agent becomes part of that monster group, and if OL is forced to choose a small monster group, he can't have large monsters in said group. I don't have official clarification on that, I'm just going by the fact that you're effectively disregarding a quest rule.

I agree with Zaltyre. Lieutenants are still monsters for gameplay, and if they are big, it seems even swapping them out would be prohibited.

****, I agree... I was just trying to annoy those pesky heroes.

Thanks!

Small- 1X1

Medium - 2X1

Large- 2X2

Huge- 3X2

So...? Medium, large and huge monsters are all big monsters.

This vocabulary is killing me. According to the rules included with all plot decks:

1x1 = small

2x1 = medium

2x2 = huge

3x2 = massive

Anything bigger than 1x1 is "large."

XD

I had no idea of the actual names in english (my game is spanish), so I guess I was trusting anything I read.

I don't know how the words translate into Spanish in the rules, but the general term for "anything bigger than 1x1" in English is "large monster," and this should be the same word that is used when talking about "large monster movement," terrain effects, etc.

Some plot cards (like Valyndra's) refer to specifically sized monsters- for example, "Massive Bulk" specifies "huge" (2x2) or "massive" (3x2) monsters.

Hopefully the translation doesn't cause rule confusion.

Not at all, don't worry. The spanish word for "large monsters" is "monstruos grandes", and for me, the direct translation for "grande" is usually "big". I forgot about "large" being the official term for english. Completely my bad.

The spanish terms for each different size (2x1, 2x2, 3x2), I cannot remember right now, but they were not confusing, AFAIK.

When A shadow dragon use Massive Bulk's crush on a figure without Attribute(some NPC , but pass all check in this counter,like The True Enemy's Guard), how many dmg will this crush cause?

I assume you mean 'crush' on 'punish the weak.' This will do no damage to a figure without a might value- similar to the OL card 'explosive runes,' (see FAQ) this card hightlights the fact that if a figure has no attribute value, you cannot be 'in excess' of it or 'below it' by any countable amount.
