Amazon UK Done It Again

By Dog0987, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

so, Amazon UK had preorders up for the new expansions for Imperial Assault. So i ordered them.

And now they have cancelled my orders, stating that "the manufacturer has informed them this item is no longer available."

They did the same with Armada, then 2 days later relisted it at almost twice the price I had it preordered for.

I appreciate its at the printers, and not going to be released for some time. But thats the whole point of preorders!

Anyone else having this trouble?

(out of interest, if this does happen to you, and your original preorder was for a good price, complain to them. I had 2 Armada sets preordered for £46 each. They cancelled and 2 days increased price to £90! When i complained, they let me have them for the £46 again, "as a one off favour to me!")

If you can get your LGS to save you a copy they should give you a set price. My LGS gives a 10% discount on all RRP, I find this is very often cheaper than Amazon UK. They also do mail order and are based in the UK.......................

Do they also enforce an oath of secrecy that means you are unable to name them? ;)

Dog0987 I had similar situation and end result, with Armada. Pretty disgusting to trumpet a "pre-order price guarantee" then pull these shady antics to avoid honouring it.

Sorry about the secrecy, didn't know if I would be breaking any forum rules by mentioning the shop by name. Thought I'd leave it open to PMing.

I heard the other day that they did the same thing with the Raider pre orders too. So that's a full house. Cretins

I've never seen anyone on these boards get in trouble for promoting their LGS (at the end of the day, it's another outlet for FFG to sell stuff). But by all means, please fire me a PM if you could.
