Bryan Drake's Paints

By bdshow, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Thought I would post my progress. Some are not as neat as the others, but I have had such a blast painting these. Very therapeutic and fun. Thanks Sorastro for the great tutorials.

Some bases and detail work on a few needs to be addressed, and lighting is not ideal, but it's been a blast.

I especially like doing ones that a tutorial isn't out for so that I can test my skills, but I love the videos.

Great work man! I like your take on the sabs. I just finished painting 10 of those things - it gets old quick, but very rewarding.

And I agree with you on the pre-tutorial painting, too. I just finished basing Gideon last night - had to mix most of those colors myself, and I think they turned out pretty close - at least I'm proud of it anyway. lol

Thanks man I really appreciate that. Gideon is next on my list too ha ha. It's funny how much you can do with a little Steel Legion, Ushabti, Agrax and Nuln.

I did 6 rebel troopers at a time and that was tedious, but I can't imagine 10 Sabs. Props to you man. About number 5 on the last two steps I started getting a little lazier lol. Not much, but I figure eh they are minions in a sense so...

I was just thinking last night how awesomely relaxing it is to be painting a unique dude for a change - I can REALLY focus on making it perfect, instead of dreading the multiplier for assembly-line-think... It gets exhausting knowing you're doing a set of 3 or 4, and remembering you're only on this color for the first of them - and you have 4 more colors to do...

Updated with Han and Chewie, almost done now. Holding off on the super secret Episode 10 piece ;) for sure.
