Just ordered IA, going to play through some campaign missions to familiarize ourselves with the rules and had some questions about skirmish lists. Is having 1 of each expansion enough, or are there some expansions you will need multiple of? Is IA OP gaining as much traction as X-Wing did early on? Hoping to see some of you at the game table soon!
New to IA.....skirmish questions....
There is some you might want extras of like the rebel troopers and rebel saboteurs.
Fortunately for the wallet, you don't need to buy second of many of the expansions that are the unique named hero characters. Once you play some more, you may want two sets of some of the support troops. Soon enough, there will be more to use so the extra expansions might not be necessary as there is only so much room to add figures in your list. A lot of it depends on your style of play and which side you prefer. Unlike xwing it is not 'mandatory' to get multiples of the same pack to play a competitive list. Haven't played the campaign, but I believe more than 1 expansion of each is not necessary for that either.

Actually, for the Campaign you can't use more Deployment Cards than came in the box. I can't think of any reason to buy a second Core set (or presumably of any other expansion) for Campaign play.
So for example, the Imperial Player can still only ever use up to 2 Regular Imperial Officers in the Campaign mode, even if he has 4 of those regular Officer cards available.
I would definitely recommend getting a second set of dice separately though. My kids like to hold their own dice in their hand, so that I can never find my Green and Blue dice when I need them!
lol
The only reason to have a second core set for campaign is that it's easier to maintain 2 simultaneous campaigns that way (I have this issue right now as I have 2 campaigns going). You can keep both card pools separate from each other, but not worry about breaking them all down after each gathering...
Beyond that, no...
Thanks for the info guys! Really looking forward to playing campaign with my wife, 14 and 7 yr olds, and getting some OP setup at my FLGS.
