Hi All,
I'm experimenting a non squadron fleet list.
Using 1 x VSD and 2 x GSD combo.

GMT and Yularen might be overdoing the token game. Sure its nice, but is it worth the points? I'd say no.
Dominator AND Expanded Launchers. About the same - nice to be sure, but worth all those points? Probably not.
Also, you have no credible way of dealing with squadrons (Dominator just doesn't help enough). One measly blue dice for 3 ships. If you run into rebel fighters you're going to hurt. Just imagine what Luke alone could do to you ![]()
Thank you. Fair comment.
what would be the change recommended if I want to bring such a list to a tournament?
Well, do you absolutely want it to be a no-fighter fleet?
Get rid of Yularen and stick Engine Techs on Demolisher.
I suppose you could go for Gladiator IIs - they have better anti-fighter dice, but not enough I'm afraid.
I you want to go all-ship like this, with two Glads, you need to close fast and kill even faster.
Definitely trash expanded launchers, it is a waste of points
Saw someone else play a similar force, only they had a Vic II in place of one of the gladiators. They got annihilated by squadrons in the end because they didn't have a counter. Probably best to get rid of the expanded launchers as it's only useful if you can keep them if front of you.
This is my concern with Victory-class destroyers. One blue die anti-fighter fire - or even two from a Nebulon Escort Frigate - can chew through TIE fighters like nobody's business, but the same fire at X-wings will take twice as long to bring them down - and they're more than twice as lethal to capital ships, and victories are slow enough that they can hang with you for multiple turns even without squadron tokens.
I have serious concerns about VSDs in a fighterless list. Especially if you're at 300 points; you will never have initiative, so if your opponent feels they can't handle you in a deathmatch, they'll be second player and present you with objectives that are awful for you. If they can handle you (say, dual VSD IIs with gunnery team and XI7s; you could lose both GSDs in one round of firing if the dice are with your enemy) then they can pick something like minefields which, sure, you can limit your opponent's moves. But the mines limit your moves too, and Gladiators do like to maneuver. If you run into squadrons, your only hope is to blitz the opposing ships down. VSDs don't do blitzes.
If money is no object, grab another GSD or two if you want to run fighterless. If it is (and it probably is), I'd suggesting dropping Tarkin for Screed (you have two ships with ACM!) and maybe dropping Yularen as well; you cannot put 140 points on a VSD I and expect your opponent to oblige you by driving right into its front arc. Definitely drop expanded launchers. I'd probably put engine techs on both GSDs, to enable you to close to shooting distance in one turn.
