Well another group of players have convinced me to start another Star Wars Campaign (2 groups of 5 players now). The game will be initially planet based and is set 5 years after the events of Star Wars Episode III.
The character have recently acquired a cargo hauling company which went out of business, but had built a reputation for itself many years ago. The business dwindled after the Empire took control, causing it, and many small businesses, to shut-up shop. One of the players won the business in a game of sabbaac went in his favour.
I have the first adventure laid out which involves one of the characters (who knows another of the characters) shoving himself in a crate to be shipped off to avoid the authorities. The crate is going to be hauled by the other characters as part of the business. Whilst heading back to the ship, they are suddenly pursued by Bounty Hunters. Initially they don't realise why they are being fired upon, until the character in question pops out of the crate. The characters will need to learn why he is being hunted, and how he ended up in the crate in the first place.
With that in place, the second adventure is now on my radar. I've come up with the following, and am hoping for some more suggestions for fleshing it out a bit:
A small time gang leader named Ka'terin Kinto (Nikto) of the Solay Slayers needs a team to recover illegal pharmaceuticals stolen from her by a rival gang. Kinton, claims that the goods, although illegal, were acquired by her to treat several of her gang members who were injured after a recent shoot-out. Kinto gives the characters the location of where she believes the cargo to be and offers to pay 1000cr for their troubles.
When the players arrive at the warehouse, they find it heavily guarded by security personnel. If the characters can work a way inside the building, they can observe a meeting between a Solay Council member, Councillor Nasian Loge ( Y’org'Al) and several gang members belonging to the rival gang, the Nebula Rats. The cargo, which has been clearly marked, sits in the middle of the warehouse.
The cargo is in actual fact medical supplies bound for the Dominus System, and are all branded with Imperial Special Operations security tags. If the Council Member is questioned, he is quick to confess to being part of a rebel uprising on Solay. He states that he is charge of logistics on the planet and had successfully managed to have the supplies re-directed through Solay Customs. Unfortunately the supplies were hijacked halfway through the process by an unknown party near the Dark Nebula, and somehow sold to the Solay Slayers. When delivered to the Slayers, the goods were stolen by the Nebula Rats at gun point, with several deaths on both sides.
Councillor Nasian states that he was attempting to purchase the supplies from the Nebula Rats, and that the negotiations were not going so well. He states that they brought several of the crates but it was only a portion of the much larger cargo. He enlists the characters to assist to reclaim the full manifest before the Empire tracks down the "over-sight"
The PCs track down the Nebula Rats in an abandoned deep seam factory on the outskirts of Solay's Capital. The PCs learn that they had already sold the goods to another party who also claim to be purchasing the supplies for the Rebels. Shortly after, the Empire shows up, having tracked the goods, and a firefight ensues.
