Just a quick question from a newbie painter here. Do you wash (with an ink wash) your models after you finish painting or just put on a varnish? I liked the way the wash went on my Armada fighters, but I don't want to put the wash on my Imperial Assault models and then regret it. Thanks for the help!
New Painter Question
I do, but it depends on the figure, the color of the armor, uniform or fur. Dont just take Nulan Oil and wash every figure with it. I made that rookie mistake the first time i painted a mini (the slave 1, i painted it white and washed it with nulan, looked terrible). For skin i use reikland fleshshade. For figures that wear brown, tan, or wookies (or if they are wearing white but live on tattooine) i use seraphim sepia. For armor especially metallic armor i use the nulan oil. Theres a number of washes and some of it is guess work and some trial and error. Theres some good tutorials on ebay, check out serastro's painting tutorials.
