There are some pretty intense shenanigans possible on such a ship, and I'd like to know what combos y'all can think of.
If a ship with double Astromech slots (for either faction) were invented, how would you run it?
R2 + r2d2 + daredevil for maneuverability and 2 shields back a turn.
Or the non elite talent slot, r2d2 + r5 p9. For two shields back a turn.
R5 astromech and R5-D8 comes to mind
R2 + R3-A2.
Or R4 argomech and R4-B11 for a scum which would be funny. Roll your attk, spend the focus to change eyes to hits, then get a free TL that you can use to make defender reroll his evades ![]()
r2-d2 + r5-p9 could also be quite silly depending on the ship and pilot abilities. If it has crew/system slots and a chiraneau or luke-esque ability, it'd catapult to the top immediately.
r2-d2 with r4-d6 would also be absurd on a chunckier ship. You'd never get actions, but you'd basically never die to aggressors
Edited by ficklegreendiceR7 +R5-K6 or R7-T1 would be interesting.
R2-D2 + generic R2.
If the ship had 3 agility it would be beyond broken.

unless its only speed 1-2 maneuvers were straights...which were already green ![]()
R2 Astromech + Unhinged Astromech
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! ![]()

It's interesting because in the EU this ship already exists. Furthermore, FFG has already announced that ship is being created. Curious?
R2 + R3-A2.
this is the first thing that comes to mind
and r2 + r2-d2
Edited by comawhiteR2 is definitely a strong contender depending on what that ship's dial looked like. It may get a little play but if you could just spend one more point for a bunch more green maneuver options without choking the 'normal' astromech you've got a winner.

Keep in mind that R2 also turns the Daredevil maneuver (and Ionization maneuvers) green as well.

The Scurrg H-6 Havoc had two astromechs and it has already been announced as one of the Wave 2 ships for Armada.

Doesn't really matter if it's coming out for Armada, though.
It doesn't make anything certain but so far Armada has only the Scurrg and Jumpmaster 5000 which are not also in X Wing (of course that doesn't include the biggest ships). It wouldn't surprise me if both came to X Wing in future expansions.
R2 and R2-D2 is the obvious combo.
The generic R7 would synergize well with R7-T1 and R5-K6.
Any of the defensive astros would work well together. Being able to stack R5-P9, R2-D2, R4-D6, generic R7, generic R5, etc. would be nice.
If you could stack double R7's on Tarn he'd be invicible to two attacks a round instead of only one.
I suspect we will actually see this when the Havoc/Skurrg comes out. My guess would be that the Havoc title swaps its crew slot(s) for two astromechs.
