Troll Pit Secret Room Question (from the Trollfens Expansion)

By Captain Britain, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi all

I'm brand new to the forums and pretty new to Descent, I've never played 1st Ed and our gaming group is currently working our way through The Shadow Rune campaign (with myself as the Overlord).

I've started picking up the expansions to add more flavour and monsters to the adventures and am pretty excited by the whole experience.

The community seems to to be great online and I'm hoping you can help answer a question I've got about one of the Secret Room cards from the Trollfens expansion.

The Troll Pit states "Each time a hero starts his turn while on this secret secret room, he gains 1 movement point."

Now, given the favour text, I'm assuming this is to represent the hero sliding around in troll-poo.

However nowhere on the card or in the Secret Room rules does it state that the hero ever loses these Movement points when he leaves.

No common sense states that they would, but I can see the arguement from the players arrising that, if it's not written, it's not in the rules.

This question isn't in the errata so I've turned to the forums for an answer.

I apologise if this has been covered before.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the issue is - the one movement point gained is for that turn only. The hero's speed doesn't increase - he/she just gets a single extra movement point to spend for that turn.

This. You always lose all movement points at the end of your turn, not before unless you become immobilized, or if another effect causes you to "end your movement action."

Also, if he uses a normal move action to move out of the Secret Room, he would still have that one extra movement point outside of the room (for the remainder of his turn)

Like the elven boots, the point granted is for that turn only, use it or lose it.
