Raider delayed until August?

By Zombane, in X-Wing

Hi all,

I read on an XWing Facebook group that someone had received an e-mail saying that the Raider had been pushed back to August. Can anyone confirm this? Hope it's not true!

Sounds about right.

Smells like it'll be for sale at GenCon to me...

YEAH... GenCon.

If it's only available at gencon then we will get a Vader-free regional run and a Vader-free Nationals. It'll be kind of neat to have World's be the first competitive event for new Vader and CrewPalp.

I still hope it will be sooner than later, but I've started working on a new list for the regional on the 27th that I plan to attend.

Follows the pattern -_-

Gencon sounds like a good target for sales.id expect the raider for sale within a week at LGS

Pre-release sales at Gencon seems quite likely if history was to be trusted.

Kind of unacceptable, like they are intentionally trying to kill epic sometimes

probably just having some delays in making/shipping the product. You almost act like FFG had hit their announced launch date with their Star Wars product releases in the past year without any delays.

I'm with this. As the year goes by, it's going to be harder and harder not to get Armada. Once I do my interest in Epic will be zero.

Yeah but then you have to wait even longer for the armada raider :P

You guys are just too used to the speed of the internet.

Yeah but that was because of the dockworker strike. Raider has been at the printer for 6 months.... is there a Toner-Manufacturing strike that we aren't aware of?

No strike. They are just using ink jet printers. Having a hard time figuring out what's not working

I know FFG says that Epic and Armada are supposed to be different, but Armada sure does make a case to be a better 'epic' style of game. Could also be the lack of X-Wing Epic support from FFG? I haven't looked, but does anyone know if there has been any Origins / GenCon event support for the X-wing Epic game? I know there is for Armada...

Heh...I understand you guys at FFG are working hard and all...but heh...you know...kinda running out of reasons to get up in the morning.....heh.......yeah.......

(obviously exaggerated, but just gonna leave this disclaimer here that I'm not actually serious)

Sorry, pet peveve:

It wasn't a strike, they were locked out. The dock owners were not letting the dock workers work. The fact that the dock owners could do that was one of the reasons the contract negotiations got heated. The fact that we called it a "strike" is why the dock owners thought they could get away with it.

You wish they were on inkjets...

good old dot matrix. Remember that lovely sound it made, like a cat going through a fax machine?

Wait. . . there were people who actually thought it would come out before Gencon?

Well yeah six months is pushing it even by ffg standards.

Wave 6 wasn't their fault that was the dock issues.

In fairness to FFG I understand totally why they wanted to wait till the tail end of tournament season to release an epic ship. I know the guys I play with will not touch anything right now that isn't tournament practice. When the smoke clears I think they will be much more receptive to a casual game. Right now though it's pretty much build testing, regional prep and composition calculations. I think they did this on purpose and just realized they announced too early a bit late.

Oh no not this again haha. The thread on this was like 15 pages long as to why ffg won't purposefully delay something.
