Firespray/Aggressor list idea

By pchappel, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So, have an event coming up and wanted to try something different (for me at least):

Kath Scarlet (Scum) — Firespray-31 38

Lone Wolf 2

Tactician 2

Inertial Dampeners 1

Engine Upgrade 4

Ship Total: 47

IG-88C — Aggressor 36

Push the Limit 3

Sensor Jammer 4

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Inertial Dampeners 1

Autothrusters 2

Ship Total: 53

So either Lone Wolf on Kath or Outmaneuver... And potentially IG-88B instead of C, but I really like the annoyingly survivable 88C set up like that. Guessing I am missing something major here, but what?

I don't think lone wolf on Kath is a good idea. She's going to be the first to die unless you really push C out in front of her and then I'd think that would make it difficult to position them and get butt shots out of kath (or at least, do so without being predictible). So personally, I'd switch their EPT's around and trade tactician on kath for K4 droid. PtL + K4 is great on Kath and lone wolf is great on IG88 (especially with sensor jammer).

I second all of blade's comments. Took the works out of my mouth

I agree with the Lone Wolf, makes a lot more sense on the Aggressor... But the K4? I have had excellent luck with the Tactician stressing out the TIE Interceptors and the like... Might also just move up to Fett piloting the Firespray since it is only one point more...

K4 has great synergy with Push the Limit since you are often using green moves. It allows you to grab a target lock when you reveal your dial (if its a green move). Then as an action, take focus. Then push the limit for a boost or evade (whichever is more helpful). You are now throwing 3 - 5 attack dice that are target locked and focussed, and you either dodged arcs with engine, or took an evade for defense.

Having said all that, tactician is great too. You could totally go with that and use the stresss to limit your opponents options. Killing them dead with tons of damage makes K4 very compelling though.

Wound up running Fett (PTL/Tac/EU) and the IG-88C (LW/Sensor Jam/Auto Thrust/HLC/Inertial)... Fairly good... The IG was annoyingly difficult to kill, but I was not really thrilled with the Fett build... Just not really enough Green on the dial for me to be comfortable pushing much. The K4 would have been good, or at least better than the Tactician but that was mostly because pretty much everyone I played against was aware of the danger of the Range 2 shot and so I guess I DID get more Range 1 re-rolls because they tended to try to close the distance... In any case, the firespray needs some work I think...
