An understanding of a major reason to play fat falcon.

By RsRabin, in X-Wing

So my FLGS had a spring tournament, in which I ended up on the final table across from my buddy who I mostly play with, who I helped him come up with his list and flew various meta builds against him so he could practice. So while I'm happy for him to have taken first, the way it happened left me pretty frustrated.

Two rounds of shooting between my scum Boba vs his blue squad b. All range 1 so my 8 reds and 4 greens with 2 reroll for each set vs his 8 red and 2 greens. He did 9 damage to Boba and I managed 1 damage in return.

I can definitely see the appeal in removing as many dice from the equation as you can to limit this kind of dice skew, especially in a tournament setting where 1 skew like that and you're out.

More of a complainy rant than anything, I'm already gearing up for the next tournament in 3 weeks and trying to convince myself not to give up on green dice to take a 3p0 r2d2 falcon list lol.

Again not super mad or dissing on how the game works, just a bit frustrated lol

You've got to bring it down while you have the firepower to do so. If you want until you have one ship to go after double-droid Falcons or Corran you're gonna have a bad time.

My current favorite turret-buster is 3 prototypes with Autothrusters. It is surprisingly effective.

fat falcon doesn't really remove dice skew

it does load all of it onto the opposing player, though.

the real way to remove dice skew is to play control or arc-dodge. If they can't shoot you, they can't dice you. Of course, PWTs will dice you regardless of what you do which is basically why I hate them.

That's what most abilities/actions/upgrades are centered upon, limiting the randomness of dice. You'll have to just find the combination that works best for your play style.

Sorry for the potentially silly question but what is "PWTs" short for?

You didn't read the post. He's not asking for help beating Fat Han.

I did actually. I was trying to discourage him from bringing his own.

problem is chiraneau would have to be a CWT

crepe w/ turret

4 b's with accuracy corrector. That's the real no dice list.

Yeah the 4b accuracy corrector is a list I gave my cousin to play since he doesn't play much, so pretty new player friendly lol
