Tie breaking Procedures

Okay how does the tie breaker procedures go.

1. both players have 100 point squads

2. player 1 does a total of 7 damage

3. Player 2 only does a total of 6 damage.

Time limit is called and how do you determine the winner?

Current rules are based on the points values of ships destroyed - not damage.

So it will depend on whether the damage dealt resulted in ships being removed from play.

If no ships were destroyed by either side then the game is a draw.

ohhhh okay.

Damage dealt is sadly irrelevant. The question is how many points were slain.

If the number of points slain is identical, the player with initiative wins in an elimination round.

If it's not an elimination round, both players are counted as a Draw (worth 1 point each).

Assuming this is a single game and we are not looking at who is winning in the pre-elimination stage of a tournament.

Based on what is said here the game is a Draw.

Is it an elimination round and a winner MUST be crowned? Then the player with initiative wins even if the other player won the right to decide who got initiative!

Isn't the best way to break a TIE to use a hammer?

I'd think a pair of sharp scissors would work better to break a tie. Too much give for a hammer to be effective.
