Your thoughts on the Epic format

By SpikeSpiegel, in X-Wing

Might be that I have played under 30 games, but 300 points games are a bit too long for me and my friends. That should change with the raider. Had a blast woth the campaign though.

Unless you don't mind waiting until Gen Con at the end of July.

I don't think the whole Huge ship overlapping rule is a problem. It's a relatively limited space that the Huge ship is likely to move that you need to stay out of. The biggest deal is energy. It is almost always going to move its lowest speed to gain energy. The CR-90, for example, could try to move straight 4 to overlap stuff, but it would lack the energy to fire its weapons. And really, straight 4 on a CR-90 isn't even that fast. I have played about 10 epic games and I think I've seen a ship get run over by the Huge behemoths once.

Man, I didn't realize I've only played 10 games of epic. I've gotta get some more games in!

If a huge ship is destroyed it should be faq'ed to count as a huge ship obstacle for the rest of the fight.... or else anything in range 1 takes a hit. Hulks are awesome.

My love of floating hulks is probably why I enjoy playing space engineers so much...

Love cracking open the larger cargo ships.
