The Trollfens - Travel card correction

By Cejel, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Travel card 3/3 supplied with in The Trollfens expansion has an omission.

The card is "A lone knight in shining silver armor blocks your path."

The next to last paragraph states...

If a hero deals more damage than he suffers, he may take the drawn Shop Item.

If he suffers more damage than he deals, he discards the drawn Shop Item.

My question was: What if the damage suffered and damage dealt are equal?

I submitted my query to FFG and received this reply from Kara.

Excellent question! I carried your question to the original author of the card and if there is a tie between
damage suffered and damage dealt, discard the drawn shop item and return this card to the game box.
So the card should read...

If a hero deals more damage than he suffers, he may take the drawn Shop Item.

If he suffers equal or more damage than he deals, he discards the drawn Shop Item.

This issue could easily come up during a game. I hope this prevents any unnecessary bickering.

Lots of questions are opened, like what if the draw is...

- Guja: You take the extra red die triggered by attaking at range2? similar with "dragon toth hammer"

-What hapen if the knight attaks with the "mayal" and deals 0 damge? thkes 1 damage and loose the duel?

Anything dealing with map position will not apply- during the travel phase there is no map. Dice that add based on empty hands would add based on what else you have equipped.

Weapons that cause the user to sufferr damage would hurt the hero but not the knight- because that damage is not "dealt" by anyone, and the measure is what the hero DEALS vs what the hero SUFFERS, not what the hero suffers vs what the knight suffers (or what the hero deals vs what the knight deals.

I should point out that I always cringe when this card is drawn. Last time it was drawn, the players got a free Bearded Axe right after the introduction quest on the way to the very first pick. I was rather disappointed when I rolled minimum damage and he rolled maximum and had to hand Trenloe the Bearded Axe.
