Wave 2 Spoilers!

More people need to talk about whatshisface from the MC30c pack. With so many people talking about corvette spam @ 400 points, I wonder who will see more use. Him, or Mon Mothma.

he works on unique squadrons

who needs Cr90s :)?

Oh General Rieken? I like the fact that he encourages using unique upgrades on your fleet to gain the most of his ability. It plays around with how inportant initiative is and giving the Rebel player a chance for one last hurrah with a ship or squad that got blown away. I think he's really cool.

Edit: just reread his text. Ships do not have to be unique but squadrons do. My point still stands for squadrons, but it makes him just that much better.

Wait he works on squadrons? Oh he just go so goddamn cool.

That actually makes me think about what lists I could possibly build him in.

unique squadrons

I got all excited about squadron spam too :(

Oh, well that's still pretty good.

Improves wedge and luke a bit, cause they have escort and usually die first.

Wedge basically gets Counter 6 :P

IMO he's pretty bad if you aren't packing ALL the unique squadrons. If you're losing ships to enemy fire, is one last shot going to matter? Maybe. But Mon Mothma could have just been saving you multipe HP each turn. You'd only likely have 3-4 ships anyway, and so his ability would only go off once or twice before you've lost.

Unique Squads even this out a bit. If your fighters are going down, they may as well take some enemies down with them! Jan Ors is now double autoinclude, as even if she's killed, she can keep providing her brace tokens to others!

He seems situational indeed

He's probably there to enable suicidal shrimp frigates and compensate for their range.

Sure you lose a shrimp but it hardly matters if an isd goes down with it

The factvthat they're packaged together is a huge hint IMO :P

Killonare, thats what I first thought when I saw the news article, but now gears are starting to turn in my head.

"Not destroyed until status phase", where the status phase is when you ready defensive tokens and dials.

So that means you could take a damaged corvette that will probably die to shooting anyways (or already has) and TOTALY battlestar pegasus it.

Maybe the turn before you parked it infront of a victory, so this turn it crashed into you cause you break-checked, but you have all state, and are still fine. Then you activate dead corvette, shoot at the offending victory with a concentrate fire command, of course, then move, either framing the same guy for another damage card, OR zipping off to the other star destroyer, ramming it. If you rammed its front arc, then it probably rams you too if it is unactivated. That's 3 damage cards plus its shooting attacks.

And you have 9 corvettes cause this is a 400 point game and you have more money than sense! XD

At least it makes a kickass cinematic moment in your head as it happens.

And at this point someone walks by and remarks how you got 7+ damage cards on a corvette.

Surely we must be due another wave 2 article at some point soon, right? I think I'm going insane >.<

Indeed! +1 like cause I agree with that.

Ya...really disappointed with so few details :(

I want to see more of what the Raider can do...pretty cool looking ship and will fit in amazingly with my current fleet.

I'd just be happy with any information at all. Everything looks like they could bring tons to the game and I'm so excited for the chance to see some new dynamics. Hell, even the jump from 300 to 400 is exciting.

I think they are holding off due to logistical constraints. They want to make sure the articles line up with the actual release date.

So yeah, we aren't going to get them in the summer.

Home One and SW-7 Ions will wreck face if my reading of it is right. It turns accuracy rolls into damage as well

want to point out that this means you can have say an mk2 with 5 damage cards, the enemy shoots at you and you receive 2 more damage cards, now because you were almost dead you took an engineering command and if you have a token you discard those damage cards. Presto your ships magically resurrects it self!! Its like it has mastered the darkside of the force and knows how to live forever or something!! :)

And then a tie fighter kills you with its one blue dice. Its a neat gimic, but hard to pull off and probably won't help much in the long run. Interesting though, to say the least!

Unfortunately, right now the only Rebel ship that can take Ion cannons is the CR90B.

MC80 will be able to take ion cannons too. :)

Nah, I bet the MC80 just has ion slot cards but no ion slot to put them in. So useful.

Jan Ors seems an autoinclude. Which is a very bad thing in my book.

I'm not so sure. We still don't know her price, shes not high impact on her own, she needs friends to enhance, and her effectiveness is based on how often you actually want to move squads who are engaged. She will also have trouble keeping up with some, unless they slow down to follow her. I think shes good, but no more auto include then Chirenau is.

She pretty much does look luke auto-include however. With X-Wings or a YT-1300 (because escort) she does what Howlrunner does for imperials. Which is enable non-named squadrons to be useful. Tokens on squadrons are very powerful, and she allows you to survive an alphastrike without having Gallant Haven. I mean Imps are very powerful in fighter combat. And while Jan will not stop the autodamage shenanigans, she will be very good against 6 dice interceptors. And tbh they dont pay a lot for their combo to work so i like it that Jan can help you be cost-effective.
