Wave 2 Spoilers!

By Jo Jo, in Star Wars: Armada

You can't even spend accuracy to block Jan's brace either. Pretty good.

Like that Ian guy. I'm afraid Boba will fall into Darth Vader category: very good, reasonably priced but not essential.

So, the Impstar 1 has a brace, 2 redirects, and a crit negator? Cool. That must mean the ImpStarDuce gets an evade, a brace, a redirect, and a crit neg.

Or evade, double redirect, crit negator, with no brace. But I find that unlikely.

Another option is that their is an upgrade card with something that has to do with an evade defensive token

But I think the alternate defense token layouts per ship is more likely.

Darth Vader sucks because he has Escort.

"Please, please target my most expensive squadron first"

Boba does not have Escort

Both those squadrons seems very strong. Intel is a very cool keyword and might open up even more fight/bomber based builds!

Uh, he also has two Braces, which means he would take approximately 2x the amount of firepower to kill vs a normal TIE adv...

Moldy Crow is going to be vital. Jan Ors provides a huge amount of survivability to X-Wings, who FINALLY Have something more important than themselves to Escort!

(seriously, X-Wings are the most dangerous fighters available to Rebels. Escort is kinda waste on them. NOW, with Jan, they're ALL hero X-Wings!) Better yet, the bombers or other ships with the X-Wings can slip out of the dogfight, while the X-Wings stay back to finish off the enemy fighters

8 dice on an ISD, that's some good eatting right there.

How do you think the wording of Boba plays into everything? Does the defending ship decide which hull zone to take the 1 damage? Is it the side that Boba is closest to? Boba could be great to sneak in after you focus fire a side and guarantee yourself some hull damage.

if it's like targeting ships, you pick the hullzone within distance one I'd guess

Well Boba sounds more and more promising...

it's a funny anti-synergy with rogue though, since his ability triggers during activation and rogue only kicks in during squadron phase after ships have moved

corrupter + squadron command activation shenanigans make boba a fun recipient of squadron commands despite the keyword

With Boba's rogue ability, it's really putting the coup de grace to some ships. Put him near GSD and it's like triple tapping a ship

I don't understand this. You activate him whenever you move him, reguardless of phase.

yes but rogue activates during squadron phase after ships have moved (probably out of his ability's range)

also you don't get corrupter if you have it

I wanna see ship cards not the rogues and villains. :/

Wohoo!

Boba got some auto damage on activation. Even against ships. Phantastic!

Well, Intel is a dirty dirty trick. Run Jan Ors with some X-wings, lob them into a big furball, and then let your slower B-wings calmly float past all the enemy ships and blast whatever that wing of TIE fighters was defending.

Jan Ors will really shake up things for fighters

Those were my initial thoughts when I saw Jan Ors. She's going to make it very frustrating for your opponent when they can't lock down your bombers. But she is pretty fragile even with brace tokens. 4 Hitpoints can go quickly.

I kind of like Home One. Not sure if its worth 7 points, but it is pretty thematic. I can hear, "Concentrate all firepower on that Super Star Destroyer!"

Home One is H9 turbolasers on steroids

note, in the "Here They Come Article" it reads

"another friendly ship at distance 1-5 is attacking, it may change a die to a face with an [accuracy] icon"

that's ridiculous btw. Sure it doesn't work on Home One, but it works on everyone else without limitation (apart from distance) and even works on blank die faces

Doesn't work on black dice though :(
