Can someone break down for me how the next mission is selected?

By MJWaters84, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

So, we just finished the introductory scenario. Can someone explain in detail how the next scenario is chosen? Do I just draw two from the deck and let them pick?

Also, what happens if I have six figures on the board, but there are only 4 players? Do only four of my six get to activate?

Please help, and thanks.

1) Look up "Story and Side Missions" on pg 17 in the RRG, and follow the campaign table on the back of the campaign guide.

Basically you reveal two side mission cards from the already built side mission deck, and they choose which side mission to go on. Rebels are allowed to view the reward for each mission.

2) You activate ALL your figures. So after alternating with rebels for the first 4 of your activations, you activate your last 2 figures back to back.

So, say I activate a unit of troopers, and they get defeated. Does the deployment card go back to my hand for me to redeploy?

Also, how do the Rebels put Allies in play? Lets say they "unlock" Chewbacca. How do they get him to fight for them? I don't see anywhere in the rules that there is a way for the rebels to deploy additional figures.

1) Deployment card goes back to your hand and be played again unless its unique.

2) Pg. 5 of the RRG "Rebel Allies" has everything you need to know.

Basically the Rebels can bring one ally that they have earned, and the Imperial player receives additional threat to spend equaling the cost of the rebel ally. One of the Rebel players then controls the ally for the mission.

Again - just read pg 5 of the RRG - its all there.

A few more questions after tonights game.

1. I am looking at Gideon's ability. What is the timing for this? On Gideon's turn, he spends one of his actions to let another character interrupt a future Imperial Turn? He has been playing as he is interrupting a rebel turn to make another character go. IE: Probe droid activates. Before the action, Gideon activates and moves the target out of the way.

2. Deploying as the Imperial Player. I can deploy as many characters worth that I have threat, correct? IE: I can stock pile and then deploy one massive army in one swoop - as long as I have enough threat?

Thanks.

1) Read the text literally. When Gideon activates, he can spend one of his 2 actions to give one other friendly figure an attack or a move. This is resolved immediately, during Gideon's turn, before Gideon continues his turn! Gideon can not activate during an imperial activation!

2) Yes. Also the order in which you deploy can be chosen by you. Sometimes it's worth deploying a Nexu to block some spaces and then deploy smaller units further up. You only need to deploy as close as possible (see "Counting Spaces" in the rules reference guide!).
