Open and Transparent? Then update us on the Raider!

By Zombane, in X-Wing

Hi all,

I'm getting frustrated by the lack of news about the Raider. I'm liking all the previews, and I understand the process behind that, but there is obviously some severe delay with the Raider, and they haven't told us what it is or when it's likely to come out. I watched the video Team Covenant did with the (vice?) President, and he said he realised they'd not been transparent in the past, and they would fix that going forward.

I know it unwise to promise a release date then fail to meet it, but any form of acknowledgement that there's an issue would be a start.

*end rant

Pfffsh.. You want lack of transparency, in fact complete and thorough opaqueness look online for how palladium books deals with their robotech Kickstarter backers.

If it's a manufacturing issue (their batch came out wrong for example) then it's bad practice to tell us why because they'd be publicising that the factory produced a bad batch, a factory they want to continue to work with. You don't stab your partners in the back like that, especially if they're making up for their mistakes.

I don't think FFG are particularly bad when it comes to informing their customers. The Upcoming page alone is a cut above most manufacturers,

I'd rather wait another month for my Raider pre-order than end up with a ship as poorly finished as many of the Armada Rebel core set ships were. Don't get me wrong they weren't terrible, just not up to the exceptional standard set by X-Wing nor the preview images.

I could not agree more!

I was initially sorry I missed that KS as a big fan of the Robotech show and RPG.

I pre-ordered my core set over a year ago.... They still haven't shipped to wholesalers in Australia!

Some retailers have ordered stuff from US distributors though.

Perhaps "at the printer" is as much info as they can realistically give.

Or do business w GW. New products are only rumors until you find they will be out in a week and start scrambling...

I got half of my kickstarter pledge last week after two years.......

Try to find news about the other half.......

This exactly. It's rarely good form for a company to publicly air any issues that they're having whether internal or with partners. As we all know, as soon as the slightest bit of info hits the internet, it's immediately misconstrued, taken out of context, and/or the subject of gross overreactions. In the end, it's often wiser for a company to merely say that there are delays and that they're doing everything they can to get the product out soon. While I'm not sure if FFG has said this explicitly, they have given us a target date for the release of the Raider (2Q 2015) which has not yet expired.

I feel your pain though. I check every day to see if there is any movement on my pre-ordered Imperial Raider. It's frustrating to not have more info, but having been in FFGs shoes myself, I understand where they're coming from.
