Object & Follower Worship

By Dungeon Crawler Jack, in Talisman

Use this thread to celebrate objects/followers you've found and loved in your games. Best enjoyed when you note their ability and which deck and expansion they come from, here are a few of mine:

Exorcists Blade: Vathrax Deck, Dragon expansion - when you roll for psychic combat, use your strength value instead of your Craft (Sick! totally whacks up the power of strength-based characters).

Pharaoh's Crown: Bridge Deck, Deep Realms expansion - You may force enemies to re-roll their attack roll (isn't this amazing? This could help take out those indomitable Nether Realm cards that pre-state the attack roll, depending on interpretation).

Luna: Menagerie Deck, City expansion - when you spend (light) fate, you may choose the value of the roll (No limit to how many times this can be used, if you can generate the fate for it (and if the Woodland Deck doesn't mess you up) you can own this game)

Flail: Armoury Deck, City expansion - Roll 2 dice in battle (How could I leave this weapon out of my list? it smashes its way through most of what the board can throw at you as soon as you can afford to buy it, I always consider it a main priority to get at the mid-point of the game).

Bow: Armoury Deck, City expansion - Roll 1 die before the battle and add it to your attack roll (The Flail's slendier, cheaper cousin, using these two together makes you devasting to nearly everything Strength based in the game, a quicker and cheaper priority to go for early on).

Skeleton Key: Tunnel Deck, Deep Realms expansion - Roll 1 die at the Portal of Power (Seemingly minor ability, but can be used for a quick or an easier win, we all hate it when the Portal brings down our craft!)

Please share your favourite items and followers too!

I was meaning to comment here a while ago, but never got around to it. I like the idea for this thread.

One of my favorite weapons is the Shadow Dagger from Blood Moon, because at Night you can add 3 to your Craft.

The Dragon Bane is pretty good if playing with the Dragons expansion; doubles your strength value, when fighting Dragons.

I certainly will mention more in a future post, but I'd also like to take a moment and talk about "Ideal characters/with equipment/extra outfitting"

So for this, you would describe your favorite character and supplementary characteristics and "outfit". I am going to limit the amount you carry. No mules, holding bags, or other things that allow extra objects.

I'll start:

Necromancer, who happens to be a Lycanthrope (extra 2 to Strength and Craft, at Night)

Plate Armor(City) * Solomon's Crown(Base/Main) * Battle Axe(City) * Gauntlet of Might (Dungeon)

I love the Necro's abilities, but he doesn't start strong. So on a "just him" level, this really beefs him up strength wise.

In a future post here, I will detail my favorite followers and some more objects.

Gladiator

(turned good and headed down the dungeon).

Anointed Robe + Shield of Faith

..the guy will dodge almost anything

This is a place, but we love it: Crags. I know... my friends love No-Sense. Sometimes we have this rule: if you can go in the Crags with die, you must go in the Crags (so... it's different from Forest). Now my friends call themselves "Sect of Crags".

Sword of Truth. If your strength is at least 1 higher than your opponent (or equal) it is impossible to get a bad beat when fighting them.

Oberon's Bow, the AK47 of Talisman.

One card that I fell in love immediately:

Apocrypha:

A cursed object from the Harbinger expansion, that makes you lose one life and one strength/craft every time the top Omen gets discarded, BUT you win the game when the last Omen gets discarded.

A sick card that just changes your game immediately and you really dont have much choice since its cursed. It made me die in the last game actually, but still love it:-)
