Squadron Rules

By AintNoPoser, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I was just wondering about the attack pool of squadrons. On pg 13 of Learn to Play under Squadron Attacks it says squadrons can use all colors of dice at distance one. With most of the squadron cards, they all have a specific color die but it's only 1. I'm just looking for clarification on this because my TIEs keep getting decked by X-Wings.

Also if this is true, how can I use my Star Destroyers to destroy squadrons faster.

Thanks!

SDs can use the the anti-fighter armament (1 blue dice - or 2 for one of the GSDs) to shoot at squadrons.

Squadrons shoot at other squadrons with anti-fighter dice (the left pool when looking at the card). So TIEs have 3 dice vs. X-wings. X-wings 4 vs TIEs.

Note: all squadrons shoot only at range 1 (regardless of target type), but ships can shoot as far as their dice type allow.

I kind of expect my basic TIEs to lose to Xwings. Their roll when I played with the Core was just to delay the Xwings from getting near my VSD. Otherwise Xwing damage can add up. Just try to engage Xwings outside the anti-squad arc of an Neb-B to have them screening the Xwings for as many rounds as possible. The VSD just needs to focus on one Rebel ship (usually the slower Neb-B) to cover the point loss from the TIEs.

The above assumes just the core set. Your options really open up with Wave 1.
